Quit smoking, that is. I'm tired of my mouth tasting like tar when I wake up. I'm tired of the cough and flegm. I'm tired of smelling like cigarettes.

I didn't buy a pack this morning when I stopped for my morning coffee. It's time to kick the habit.

My dad smoked for 25 years and managed to quit as did my grandparents and aunt (many of whom smoked for 50 years or so).

Sending you their quitting mojo-- you got this!

I didn't even make it one day! Murphy's law struck at work (several times) and I used that as an excuse to buy a pack.

Tomorrow. For real this time.

You will do it when you set your heart and mind to it...My mother quit after almost 60 yrs of smoking...

She said she went to the altar and gave them to God and never wanted another one...

Luckily me and my siblings never took up the habit...I think it was because we smoked mama and daddy's cigarettes in the car and in the house..

I hear if you drink lots of water it helps the process and cut down on the caffeine too...They say the caffeine craves the nicotin...

Good luck to you on your next try....

I am trying again tomorrow. I really am ready to quit and I need to stop using it as a crutch. It's a disgusting, expensive habit that will kill me before my time.

OK, so more than a month later, I've finally gone a whole day without any nicotine. I can't wait for the physical withdrawal symptoms to subside. I have a good plan for the mental triggers. It involves a bunch of pushups, crunches, squats and other physical exercise.

Good job!! I have one pack left and have to quit. I just bought myself a brand new car and I am NOT filling it with nasty smoke!! I like to use breathing exercises and screaming in my mind that the urge will pass soon. I smoke when I have alcohol, so have to cut that out for awhile too. We can do it!!

Good work! I gave up a packet a day habit 14 years ago, never think about it now even with all the drama this past year. When I was where you are now I got to the point it was me against the cigarettes, felt like a battle of wills and I like to win

Don't give in for a second you can do it.... forever

Four miserable days down. I wish I could jump in a time machine and punch my stupid long haired 13 year old self in the face before I took a drag off of that first cigarette. "Play basketball instead!" I would tell myself. Then I wouldn't have to quit smoking now and I might not have a student loan.

Two whole weeks! The cravings aren't as bad or as frequent but I've had the worst insomnia and don't quite feel like myself because of it. Still, I've come this far. Definitely not going to start smoking again.

Way to go! Such a great thing to do for yourself and your family and friends.

I've smoked for more years than I care to admit, and really upped it during my Divorce. I have so much admiration for those that quit.

Great job, you are an inspiration!
