Dinner Fail #1 = Frozen pizza instead of cooking

Dinner Fail #2 = Hearing the beep of the timer, supposedly telling me the pizza is done, only to find the thawing pizza sitting atop the stove.

Next time maybe dinner THEN wine?

Ok, this made me snicker...

I am not laughing at you, but with you because while I don't believe I have ever done just this.... I so WOULD do something like this.

Thanks for the chuckle. I needed that.

See, now that is where you tell everyone the timer was just so you would know the oven was preheated, and now that it is you can cook the pizza.

Sounds like your pizza was as good as mine was the time that I put the pizza in the oven but never actually turned the oven ON.

Try turning on the oven to preheat then an hour later wondering why its so hot and why is the oven on? Then remembering oops I meant to put that tray of brownie batter in the oven....

When I was in high school I once put a pizza in the oven with the cardboard piece stuck to it. Fortunately it did not burn down my mother's house (I never would have heard the end of that!) but it was rather difficult to cut with the pizza cutter

I do this at least 3 times a week.

When I was in high school I once put a pizza in the oven with the cardboard piece stuck to it.

One time I needed to keep the pizza that was delivered warm until we could sit down to eat it. I put the entire pizza in the box into the oven and turned it on. Wasn't long before we smelled burning cardboard.

I didn't do this but SO put food in the oven one day that was in a metal container with a plastic cover. He was so upset when he took it out all set to eat and realized he'd forgotten to take off the cover and now had melted plastic all over his food. I might have snorted.

No none of us have ever done that.

I'm not a timer kind of girl, and to my detriment have made charcoal out of frozen pizza more times than I care to admit.

Has anyone else melted a pizza through the rack? I grew up putting the pizza on a pan, pan in the oven. My friend told me, Oh, no, you don't need a pan, just put it right on the rack!

I don't know what I did, but the pizza looked like a big W dripping through all the slots of the rack when I opened the oven.

Ama I can't stop laughing...I usually put it on a pan because the cheese can melt on the rack and drip to the bottom..

I must have let it thaw before putting it in or something. I really have no idea how it happened.

I had to scrub out the oven by hand after that, the self clean did not work.

Every once in a while I'll come across a brand that says to put it directly on the rack. Poor Crazz has to come find me in the kitchen and ask why I just shouted "Are you INSANE?!?!"

You know you can put the pizza on one rack, with a pan on the other rack, and it will catch anything that drips so you don't have to scrub. Well, as long as the pan is on the lower rack.

I have actually cooked pizza directly on the rack with much success since then - it was totally a fluke. Lately I use my pizza stone though.
