Why must there be barfing on tv, why must we be subjected to lots of it, and why is it funny?! I dont get it. Bleah.
I mean, even on cartoons, man.

What do you hate to see that other people think is really funny?

OK... What the hell do you watch with barfing on it??

None of the shows I watch have barfing... with the exception of one Big Bang Theory Episode...

I need to know these other shows so I can avoid them.

I have the opposite answer to your question, BR. I laugh when people get hurt. I don't really think it's funny but for some reason I get a strong urge to giggle and I try to hold it in and that usually leads to hysterics.

LD tripping is the funniest thing in the world. I'm actually starting to giggle right now just thinking about it. And if he slips on the ice, fuggedaboudit!

AN...

FWSO did a face plant into a sliding glass door when we first moved into this house... I mean Walked. Right. Into. It!!!!

I howled with laughter even though he almost knocked himself out and managed to hurt his knee.

I'm giggling about it right now.

jrc, someone walking into a glass door or a screen door puts me totally over the edge. DD and I were sitting on a friend's deck once and her son came barreling up the steps running into the house but, you guessed it, the screen was closed. (I'm hysterical now just thinking about it) He ran into it, knocked it off its tracks and the look on his face . Then my friend started yelling at him. DD and I were DYING.

Sorry for the t/j BR

The curmudgeon in me hate radio show pranks where they call people and pretend to be bill collectors/repair people/whatever. I would just hang up on them. (Every once in a while there's something funny, but usually I turn it off.)

I saw a middle aged man in a three piece tailored business suit do this into a brick wall last week. He was on his blackberry and didn't notice that the corridor turned. I snickered; of course, so did he, and then he put his blackberry away and looked all flustered.

I hate canned laughter, so that rules out 99% of comedies on television . . .

Not a prude, but barfing and farting. . . 99% also not funny.

*sigh* Guess I'm more of a droll comedy person. Bring on the Monty Python!

eta: The one and only fart scene to end all others: Blazing Saddles. Now THAT was funny

Fart jokes. I mean, my 3-year-old dissolves into hysterics over any reference to poop or the word "buttcrack," but she's 3. I just don't think it's that funny anymore.

..like anything out there, there exists a spectrum of humour suited to all ages and maturity levels.

toilet humour being only one of them..

at MY age.. fart jokes and stepping in a dog turd don't tickle my funny bone any more

..except in Blazing Saddles, of course..

and at 65, i'm tired of bad smells, real or implied. You could say I've had enough SHIT in my life, and so..

well, you get the drift....

..now, if you want funny, just remember we'll ALWAYS have SEINFELD... HMMMM, i seem to recall a few episodes with farting and belching and vomiting..

Simpsons is loaded with it..

..teachers know how funny farting is, kids would squeeze them out ,on cue, in the middle of a song!!!

..my grade 6 boys could have formed their own choir!!

..i shared a bedroom with my older brother, and he would get out of bed to drop a nasty bomb on my side of the room... and it was a small room!!

..and a former principal could clear an entire staffroom at lunch, i swear to God! Foul doesn't even begin to explain ... it was something totally 'alien'..

..i've been tortured by farts all my life....first, my brother, then 7 years in Boy Scouts, 6 guys in a 9x12 closed tent.. beans for breakfast, lunch and dinner..

..on to High School.. locker rooms 50 guys..sweat and stink and mud and flying jock straps... and farts, now that was a choir!!!

..sadly, laughing now makes me fart, i stink myself out and am depressed the rest of the day..

no.....farting isn't FUNNY..any more!!

smy

P.S. to MH.. First... thanks for all that you do here

second..we have the barf icon.... but no 'fart' icon.. just wondering if you've got one stashed in your filing cabinet that all the members who 'love the fart'..??? might enjoy ..i suppose we could just use the flame, but can you make it a 'blue' one???

thanks, smy

The scene in Bridesmaids where they get food poisoning and barf and have explosive diarrhea in the la-te-dah bridal gown shop is FRICKIN' HILARIOUS!! FWS and I were talking about it last night and I decided to download it onto my iPad. Love that movie.
