Burst out and free to bounce off of our walls
As if bliss and anger were forced to share the same tonal cry
Passion is in the air
You collapse, head on my chest, silken hair falling over my shoulder
Your hand touches my face like the arms of the sun caressing the frost bitten cheeks of a child clinging to the last snowflake of winter.
I look up and watch our ceiling disappear, folding into the indigo night, a dusting of stars thrown across and fading into the soft glow of the city lights.
I turn, lips pressed against your forehead, and take it in.
That long euphoric breath
That scent I long for
Telling me you are safe
And I am home
