My house sits on a corner and today, while I was doing yard work, I noticed a car pull up and park on the street on the side of my house. I did not see anyone get out of the car and, when I could see the car, I kept noticing someone’s head pop up above the headrest then disappear. I had a suspicion about the activity going on in the car so I went inside and grabbed my camera. I took a picture of the license plate before I walked up then put my camera in my pocket. I walked up to the car and saw a young man laying back in the seat and a young woman sitting on top of him in a most uncomfortable position. She seemed to be trying to find a more comfortable position because she was shifting her lower torso back and forth. I politely knocked on the back window to let them know I was approaching. The young woman must have smelled something really nice in the car seat because she quickly buried her head into the seat and kept it there. The young man, for some reason, seemed very shocked that I had stopped by to say hello. In a very neighborly fashion, I informed the young man that he and his friend should find a more suitable place to discuss their homework especially since it was only late afternoon and I am sure the local public library was still open.

I was young once (a loooong time ago) so I understand that sometimes it is difficult to find a place to sneak away but it was 5:00 in the fricken afternoon and in broad daylight. Really? I have been on the Bus for two years, 93 days and 22 hours and you chose to do your thing on the side of my house while I was covered in yard clippings, mowed grass, dust, sweat and bits of blood from unruly rose bushes. I guess I could take the one off of my front door and post it on the side of the house.

Dang Empress, I don't think you need to bring your Grandma, just borrow some of her hardware. I talked to both of my "old" neighbors about the study time I interrupted, they both laughed, thanked me for directing the utes regarding proper homework protocol and mentioned that I was a mean old man.

Not gunna go there. Nope, not gunna comment. Dang, that's a high hanging curveball right over the plate- don't swing...

Dang Jpapa!! We'd make a great pair! I have been told I'm mean too! Of course it was by a couple of 4-year-olds that didn't get their way....... but... We old meanies have a reputation to uphold!

Did you catch the reference on Grandma's t-shirt? Was that coincidence?

It is disheartening to be called a mean old man by my neighbors who are each pushing 70.

I'm not sure if the referance was a coincidence but I was not about to fall for the big yellow hat trick.

Keep practicing. Just think how good you will be at it by the time you are their age!! (Only, one would hope, not for the same reason.)
