It's here! Today is the day my sister's adoption is finalized, and we officially welcome two beautiful, fierce, crazy smart, adventuresome boys to our family.

It's been two years since my sister decided that she wanted her life to be "more" than it was, and set out on a path to be a foster parent. She wanted to make a safe place in the world for kids who had none. She set out to foster and left open the possibility that she would consider adoption, although that was not her primary goal.

And then these two brothers entered her world. Two brothers who had seen and experienced too much in their lives at the tender ages of 10 and 8.

And an amazing thing happened. A family was born. The boys blossomed, thriving on stability, consistency, and unconditional love. And my sister blossomed as well, and over time she went from parenting them to being their mom.

Today that family becomes official, and my heart is overflowing. So much love.

I a so happy for your whole family!!! Beautiful!

My brother and sister in law adopted a child from a different country several years ago. Our whole family met them at the airport when they brought her home. Just like you, my heart was full. She wasn't a stranger entering the family, she was ALREADY a part of the family and was just finally coming home.

Continued blessings to your sister, her kids and your whole family.

That is amazing. Your post gave me goose bumps.

For your sister to open her home to kids in need is so selfless. For her to open her heart is priceless. What a gift to the two boys and ultimately, herself.

I used to work for a man who had adopted two children. They celebrated the day that each adoption became official. I thought that was so cool.
