I want a tattoo. I have wanted one for years but have really wanted one recently. I'd like one on my upper back and I keep wanting something unique. I want something that I can look at and be reminded that there is always beauty and happiness in life. Any ideas or any artists out there that want to work with me?

Also not sure if this is F&G or off-topic. Please move if you see fit. Looking forward to responses.

One of my friends who is a strong single mom, decided to get a tat on her shoulder a couple of summers ago. She is still adding to it. She has a flower for each woman in her life that has helped her become the person she is today. (bad first marriage, bad second marriage, good family and friends). The flowers are picked for each person specifically to match their personality. It's really neat, and quite colorful.

I'm not a personal fan of tat's but I do like the idea of hers, and the artwork is quite good.

I have looked into getting a tattoo as well. I like the symbolism/meaning of some celtic patterns and like the lilly and what its meanings are, especially the water lilly.

Not sure I will ever get one, but I think if I did I would probably combine the two somehow.

Do a search, there are some amazing designs out there, you can piece them together if you choose or create something new.

Good Luck !!!

I have 4. They are addicting! This my next one:

it means "kaizen" - a Japanese term that refers to a philosophy which focuses on continuous improvement. I think it's fitting. I plan on getting this on the back of my neck for my 40th bday.

You could have something drawn for you or you could just Google away. I wanna see pics when it's done!

Interesting. Kaizen is a huge part of my work. I belong to a Quality organization.

nik - if Kaizen is embraced at your organization, I'd say so!

Red Rocket Tattoo in the city does great work. A good artist will work with you and their lines will be clean. There is a saying in the tattoo world..."Good work isn't cheap and cheap work isn't good." Unless you happen to personally know a good tattoo artist....that always helps! I luckily finished most of my back that way and I have about 40 hours on it.

I got one. I got an orange flower with a ladybug on the leaf. I chose orange because I *love* that color (and, because the ex hated it), and a ladybug to represent a new beginning. It's almost been a year that I've had it and I still love it.
