So my grandma died last week. Thursday morning. She had cancer, had a year and a half and made it 4 months.

One of my aunts told her when she got to the other side and saw Granny (her mom) to blink the lights three times.

So Thursday afternoon they went to the store and bought the clothes to bury her in, etc. Friday morning they were all getting ready (my mom, sister and 4 aunts) to go to the funeral home for the arrangements and the doggone lights buzzed, blinked threet times, went off completely and then popped back on.

I SO BADLY want to think she is ok and with her mom and dad and husband and is happy and free from pain. She was so scared to go and so proud of her girls, her life, her home, her southern heritage. I know she didn't want to go ... so I am hoping when she got there, she was thinking BOY was I wrong!!!

Does anyone else believe in this stuff? I want that light thing to have been her. I really do ....

(((amitheow)))

I'm so sorry for your loss. I do believe in this type of stuff. I think she was saying that she is ok and found her mom.

I'm so sorry for your loss, amitheow. How reassuring to get that specific sign from your grandma, and to know that she is ok.

I believe in this stuff. My stepdad died also and was scared to leave my mom. He also had cancer. When is was almost gone, he looked at the wall and said "just a minute, I will be right there". I know people were waiting for him.
When my great granny died with whom I was VERY close with, I was walking up my basement stairs talking to her, and all of a sudden I could smell her home and felt a cold breeze. I knew it was her. I smile and said I love you too.

You granny gave the sign as asked. She is with her family now living wonderfully. Don't worry at all. She is being taking care of and found her mom who was waiting with her husband and the rest that have passed over.

Thanks guys. I SO hope so. She had lung cancer and the end wasn't pretty ... so I am hoping she is now happy and healthy and young again.

I've experienced too much to not believe! Seriously.

I'm sorry for your loss, and real or (too perfectly timed) coincidence I hope this has brought your family a measure of peace.

I think it has. Somewhat.
I think we'd like a little more.

Personally, for me, in the daylight and not when I'm alone but I'd like some more!

Having worked in Critical Care for 10 plus years you bet your hat I believe in this stuff.

Your Gma was letting her girls know she had reached her destination and all was well.

For some of us it something blatant like that for many of us it is not. I was incredibly close with my Grandma, and when she passed, I missed her terribly. I was going through a particularly rough patch and had a very vivid dream and she was telling me what to do, and we were holding hands, and I could totally feel her little knarled knuckles and her funky thumbnail that turned up. When I woke up, I knew I was going to get through the problem, and felt an amazing peace. I smiled, said a big thank you to her, and started my day.

She still visits my dreams on occasion, and I know that she is happy, and no longer hurting (she had horrible arthritis and didn't tolerate any pain medications).

Thank you TN.
I am hoping that is the case. She loved her mom and in her last days was crying out for her ... I know it was complete misery and she was probably rethinking her early thoughts of not wanting to go.

Same here. My DS passed away 25 years ago and has been visiting us ever since. He will visit regardless of whether we have company or not. We have many friends and relatives who have witnessed his visits first hand here. Some get spooked and some don't. Sometimes our DGC will make a request of him, and he usually obliges.

My mother passed away 2 years ago. She comes to us occasionally. My sister's 36 year old son passed away 3 weeks after my mother, and he, too, comes to us.

I'm so sorry for your loss of your dear grandma, amitheow. Be open and receptive, and she will come to you.

(((ami)))
Yep, I believe.

The night my grandfather passed (suddenly), I'm positive he was there with us. He had been drinking a bottle of Pepsi before going out to a get-together with my grandmother. My mother casually asked him if he had spiked the bottle. He said no. After he passed, my mom, my grandmother and I were sitting in the livingroom. My mother mentioned what she had asked him and we joked that he had probably lied to her. Well, at that exact moment, the top to a large bottle of water sprung up off the bottle and shot halfway across the kitchen. I'm sure he was there, saying "I told the truth!!!"

He has come to both me and my sister in dreams during important times in our lives (at my sister's high school graduation, which was 3 months after he died and my wedding). My niece, who was born a decade after he passed hugs a tiny wallet-sized picture of him often, saying she needs to hug Great-Grampy.

There's just too much out there for me not to believe.

Yeah I think so too -- I badly want to believe. I guess I will just have to keep my eyes and ears open as we continue on and see what I encounter!

I do know that I live in Houston where it's currently muggy, stuffy and hot and I CAN NOT get rid of the goosebumps!

Ok

I got back from Vegas yesterday (hated it)....

and after our naps and unpacking we turned on the TV and it just blinked and buzed a few times and went off.

Our satelite goes off all the time and I hate it. It usually stays off for hours too. If the wind blows or we get a storm, forget the TV!

But the TV has NEVER EVER blinked and gone off on it's own. I've had it since 2001.

Also when it blinked and went off the satelite popped back on which NEVER happens. If the darn thing goes off it stays off.

NANA?!
