Bitter sweet in a small way, very small way. My daughter is graduating and I will be packing her last school lunch on Monday! Both of my children attended schools without a lunch program so I just calculated based on the average 180 day school year for 12 years for 2 kids that I have packed over 4000 school lunches for them along the way. Mom's rule!

That's a lot of lunches! I can see how that would be bitter sweet. I still have a few more weeks of early mornings and packing lunches until summer vacation, but many more years until they graduate. I don't even want to think of that.

Enjoy every minute of it because it really is over before you know it. So many people would make fun of me because I packed their lunches all the way through school, but I really did enjoy doing it for them! My son sent me a text from college not too long ago that said, "Mom having lunch thinking about you--thanks for all of the lunches you packed me over the years!" sniff, sniff --it made me cry!

WOW! I think I had my kids packing their own lunches by about 3rd grade

If I was packing them as seniors, they would have wondered who the person masquerading as their mom was!

ETA: Could be why I never got a sweet thank you like you did, though.
