Oh great you are wanting to outsource that industry too?

Either way I hate it.

Ugh... can't stand wallpaper...

We have some nasty embossed stuff in our second bathroom that I haven't had the heart to do anything with yet.

I was thinking the other day that it's really not a good thing that wallpaper is making a comeback. It's so much easier to paint and repaint. Dealing with hanging wallpaper is a pain in the butt And taking it down? Ugh.. shoot me now.

Removing 800 sq ft of 30 year old wallpaper at my sister's new house. Day 3.

Kill me now.

You should have just tore out the dry wall and replaced it

Seriously - that would have been less painful.

I still need to schedule a return trip to tackle the upstairs wallpaper.

When we were looking at houses to buy, sometimes as soon as we walked in we'd just look at each other and say, "Too much wallpaper!" and leave .

Sometimes wallpaper is the only way to hide ... ugly walls. I removed wallpaper from a rental we had.... half the plaster came off the plaster walls. We ended up replastering the whole wall. And painting over the rest of the wallpaper. That (projected) weeklong project took 6 weeks to complete.

Patching plaster (and lathe) walls is difficult to hide. There was as much plaster stuck to the wall paper as there was on the wall.

I don't envy you NIK.

I have half-torn down 30+ year old wallpaper in my bedroom. I started trying to take it off and got so frustrated I quit. It's been like that for over 6 months.

My walls are a thorn in my side. Brand new house (well it's 6 years old now) and I am pretty sure it was painted while the drywall was still too wet because it was very rushed to make the closing date. Every freakin' time a child hits the wall with a toy and toe or an elbow the paint and a bit of the plaster chips off. Did I mention I do daycare? Yeah. That.

At this point I'll have to do some major fixing of chips and repaint the whole thing so I am waiting until I don't do daycare anymore, hiring someone and going away for a week when it's time.

But wallpaper? That still scares me more. I've lived in some old house and taking it down tiny piece by agonizing tiny piece is a nightmare. Good Luck NIK.

I issued an edict in our house that if I EVER consider putting up wallpaper again, that I am to immediately be institutionalized to protect me from myself.
