Ugh. This dating thing is brutal. I recently ran into a doctor who worked at a research lab that I worked with quite a bit in 2010. I remembered him and wound up giving him my number. He kept texting me and asking me to meet him *right now* for a drink and I had to remind him that I have two boys and can't do that but i can meet him at x day and time. Then he asked me again the same thing, two days later and got the same response. Then I asked him how his residency was going and if he was still in research, etc and he was having none of it. He just wanted me to send him a picture of myself? I sent him one and he was all" no, too many clothes!" He was just all about sex and got pissed when i laughed it off, saying he had the wrong girl for that and stopped speaking to me altogether. His last text to me was "Fine!"

Sorry, my phone is simple today. This guy is just one example, but he surprised me since we had met before and he didn't seem like a teenage boy then. (he is 28) I always get the "you are beautiful, let's meet RIGHT NOW" or "you are beautiful, why are you still wearing clothes?" Ugh. I don't want to have to deal with this junk.

So....I misread "this" as "his"

Ama. That is probably the next flavor of creeper that I will have to deal with- the guy with the junk pics. Lord, this is seriously depressing, I am just about to throw in the towel.

Well, if you've found every creep in St. Louis, then you're due to find a gem next.

Jessica...
I'm in STL too...and OLD has been utterly dismal for me. I've had married guys contact me, convicted felons, guys with no jobs who would like to move in with me , and yes...the "junk pic" guys. Guys who seem normal....until they get my phone number and start texting a million times a day. I am so tired of being asked to Skype with guys to watch them get off.

Is it St. Louis? Is it me? I tried several different OLD sites....my profiles were innocuous, my pics chaste, my intentions VERY clear (no ONS, FWBs, etc).

I never even met a guy I wanted to just stay friends with. Ugh.

Weirdly, I DID meet a guy through an unrelated (not dating) Craigslist ad. We struck up a friendship, and now we're dating and having fun.

But if/when we break it off, I don't think I'll be going back to OLD. It was just too weird and creepy.

Um, yeah. Me too.

Thanks, girls. I talked to a good friend tonight about it also and i feel better having gotten it out. I just really am not sure I want to keep sorting through the creeps and weirdos, especially since they seem to be all I find.

I know a couple great guys I can introduce you to, Jessica. Their names are Ben and Jerry. We're pretty close, but I can share.

Kind of a topic jerk, but what do you do with the junk photos? I'd be tempted to keep them then send them to the fools who say things like "No, too many clothes!"

Threnody!!

I've had some "junk" photos recently sent to me by a guy I VERY recently met (we didn't meet online). Apparently being sent a penis-pic is the new "getting to know each other".

I was going to just delete them but now...

I know, right!?

Who sends junk shots out in to the universe??

Umm, Congressman Anthony Weiner (that's really his name!), Brett Favre, Kanye, Chris Brown, to name a few.

That's hilarious thren. Ama, I also know ben and jerry, but they make me run an extra mile a day so we are polite but distant.

Nature girl, maybe that is what i am doing wrong, I am wearing too many clothes! Maybe creepy Andy is on to something.
