When I saw this, I screamed like a little girl. Also? I'm never sleeping again.

Golden Boa - cool snake. Big one too. Harmless (unless you're a mouse).

From the door hardware and light switch I'd say this is in Europe somewhere (in case you're worried, LOL).

Probably wise...it's doubtful you have those type of door handles so you shouldn't have to worry about a giant boa opening your door . Unless of course, you DO have those door handles...

Well, that and the crazy person encouraging the snake from off camera.

I'm here!! Not afraid--I love snakes; love to look at them, touch them, observe them. I don't understand fear of snakes; they are some of the coolest (pun intended ) animals on the planet.

But alligators, TR? I don't wrastle them; I eat them

I'm not a snake expert, LOL. Boas can bite like any snake and big ones can bite you (apparently it hurts) and aggressively throw coils around you. Any snake this big can be a problem, although from what I hear most pets are pretty well-behaved.

The standard defense, if bitten or 'squeezed,' is to get the scent of alcohol into their face because they can't stand it.

Therefore, for most SI'ers, just breathing on a big boa should be a decent defense

She seems massive. And capable of opening my closet door in the middle of the night, thudding onto my bed, and "hugging" me to death.

The thud was like a huge piece of saltwater taffy hitting the floor. Way cool. (I can't believe I just said that.)

NIK if you read it he says she turned on lights too because she didn't like being left in dark rooms. So at least when it comes to cuddle you it won't be in the dark.

I like snakes too, at least the constrictors. Reminds me of a time at school. A bunch of us went to the local Audubon Society and there was a talk/demonstration about snakes. They used a smallish boa (about 3-4 feet) and asked if anyone wanted to touch it. There was some shuffling around - you know, the "I will if *you* will" kind - but no one would until I got up and touched the snake. That's when everyone - boys included - decided the boa wasn't gonna eat them or something. Personally, I'd like to have a pet snake. Very low maintenance.
