On a scale of one to ten... what does your underwear drawer look like?

One being folded, neatly sorted, separated by type of item. Ten being total disarray. Five might mean that socks are separate from undies, but neither is organized.

Here's an example of a one:

And here's an example of a ten (okay, maybe an eight...the internet is apparently ashamed to be messy!):

--

I'm a seven or so. Nothing gets folded. Socks are sometimes near their mate but rarely actually together. Zones are pretty nebulous, with crumpled camis creating a sort-of barrier between socks (on one side) and undies/bras on the other. I think my swimsuit is buried underneath it all (maybe?). Recently I was looking for my strapless bra and discovered a whole bunch of brand new underwear I'd bought, shoved in the back, and forgotten about.

Mine starts as a 1, but eventually turns into a 10.

Well my dresser has three separate drawers for each at the top, so they're easier to categorize.

That being said, I have 30 points worth of disorganization given that each drawer looks like a bomb hit it.

Mine is always a 10 because I have way too pairs of undies, bras and sockies, and they are stuffed inside the drawer.

Now, I love that idea of having dividers/containers. I may just have to try that and clean out the "old" stuff while I'm at it.

Thanks!

Do you ladies fold your undies? I grew up in a household where we were required to fold them (and in a specific manner) but I gave that up when I moved out of my OCD mom's house... I'm lucky if they make it into the drawer instead of in a pile on top of the dresser after laundry day.

Okay...maybe I'm a 10.

I love polls!!! I'm about a 7. My bras and panties have a drawer all to them selves and they are intermingled with each other,... kind of like a mixer party or something.... My cami's have a drawer all to themselves too and there isn't quite the chaos in there. Socks..... oh that is a fiesta all it's own! They have their own drawer too and they hold some wicked wild parties in there. I swear I can hear music thumping from in there at night....

Completely normal. I understand that is one of the basic drives behind potty training.

Mine would be a zero, because I just have a few laundry baskets for clean clothes, and when I wear them they go into a hamper, and when a basket is empty I can wash whats in the hamper.

This is me too, except I have 2 drawers of absolute mess (one undies/bras and the other socks/belts).
The remaining three drawers are very neat, with all of the shirts and other assorted clothing items nicely folded.

everything has their own drawer, except socks and jammies share a drawer.

Bras are a 1. Panties a 10 utter chaos in that drawer. Sock and jammies don't mingle and socks do not go in the drawer unless matched. I don't like looking for mates.

Everything else is fairly organized. Once it gets put away.

Wow, not too many middle-of-the-roaders on this topic! I would say I am a 3.5 for the underwear drawer and all the other drawers too. I like organization but it's not over the top into OCD territory.

socks have their own drawer. They are rolled into pairs but tossed in higgledy piggledy. Underwear and bras share a drawer and are just tossed in. I guess that makes me a 5?

I think I'm a 5 too. Socks/hose/tights and camis each have their own drawer. The socks are paired up, but tossed in. Bras and undies are together, but not well organized. My mother is probably OCD. However, if it's out of the laundry basket, and in some drawer (any drawer!) I feel I've accomplished something.

About a 3. Socks are mated and in their own half of the drawer, next to folded undies. They are piles are not neat, though. Bras are folded and in their own drawer next to folded camis but do not stay in neat piles either.

Pretty darn close to a 1.

Undies have their own drawer. All folded.
Socks have their own drawer. All paired up.
Bras hang in the closet. Don't laugh.
Jammies have their own drawer. All matched and folded.

However, the "fancy go to meetin'" unmentionables are shoved rather haphazardly in a bottom drawer, mixed in with jeans I'll never fit into again and a swimsuit cover-up that makes me itch.

In all, I would say I’m a 7.

When everything is put away it is all paired and folded. My sock drawer has 3 compartments (dress, work, and athletic). I have 2 underwear drawers (boxers and briefs/shirts). Swimming suits have their own drawer, and I even have another drawer only for unmatched socks (I have way more space than I can use). I would say this is a 1, but everything only gets put away about a quarter of the time. The rest of the time I’m this:

I just have a few laundry baskets for clean clothes, and when I wear them they go into a hamper, and when a basket is empty I can wash whats in the hamper.

I am about an 8. Everything is folded but kind of just put in the drawer wherever.
My dd? She's a 100. If the folded item makes it to a drawer that in itself is a major victory. Other notable items found in her drawer might be pens, science notes, an empty water bottle, and maybe a cat. At this point it would be easier to torch her room rather than organize it.

I'm a five. Socks are matched and separated from undies & bras. Undies are folded and start out in a neat pile, but end up not in a pile.

I hang camis because I don't have room for them.

PJs are folded and have their own space.

I am about a 3.5. I have four drawers. One has bras and undies, divider, but no folding. Drawer 2 is socks, dividided by athletic, work, and knee, but no mating. Drawer 3 is tights and because I am old, slips and spanx. Drawer 4 has swimsuits and "other".

Depends how my mum leaves them after she's come over to do my washing....

I did the washing myself yesterday. Currently my socks and undies are spread across a number of radiators. T-shirts are hung over the dining room chairs.

After that they should hopefully all make it into the same draw. 10.5

I'm a 4 or 5. I'm still on a college kids budget and have two rubbermaid chests of drawers that I use for nightstands. I use one of them for my underwear, socks, bras and swimsuits and each gets it's own drawer. I don't fold or match any of these but I will frequently go through and purge to clean them out.

When I help SO with his laundry I fold his boxer briefs out of habit (they resemble shorts) and get weird looks. But he is also the type that is too lazy to fold anything and hangs pretty much everything.

10 here. Folding undeies is like tits on a bull - totally pointless.

I have water quantity issues - I can go 2 months easy without doing laundry. And sometimes I go that long, even if I have lots of water.

4; socks are matched and in their own location, swimming suits are also matched (if tankini type suits) and folded in their own location, and undies are just thrown into the drawer in their location.

Call my psychic, but somehow I KNEW where this was going when I saw the name of the poster!

I'm anywhere from 3 to 10 depending on how much time I have to get out the door. Everything starts out neatly folded, but must share a drawer in a storage container since xpos wanted the bedroom furniture, and I can't decide on replacing it until I decide what I want to be when I grow up! The drawers are deep and narrow, so I have to dig deep sometimes to get what I want from each pile. If I have time, it gets done neatly. Otherwise, everything goes wherever. The next laundry day, it gets straightened again when things get put away.

People fold underwear? That's just so wrong. So wrong. Hell, half the time mine don't make it to the drawer because I can't get to the drawer due to the enormous Lego or TinkerToy construction that's taken over the bedroom. It's quite elaborate, it houses dozens of Webkinz, has multi-stories serviced by an electric crane that's operated by remote.

So the clean undies & socks just get tossed on the bed. Along with the clean clothes. And the dozens of stuffed toys who are too big to fit in the condo construction but are such BFF's with the Webkinz that live there that they cannot stay anywhere else because they'd be lonely. And who am I to argue with lonely Webkinz? It's bad enough I broke up the family via this never-ending divorce. I cann't break up the stuffed toy families, too. That's too much destruction for me to bear.

But even if the bedroom didn't have an enormous condo in it, I still wouldn't fold my underwear. That's simply wrong on every level of operation.

Every drawer in my house is a 10. I have great intentions - they start out as a 1 and I really WANT to keep them that way. But after a couple of foraging missions, they turn into 10s pretty quickly.

Except my white socks. Those are in a shoe box in my top drawer. Everything else is chaos.

4 or 5. I have separate drawers for undies, bras, and socks. Socks are all matched, and when there are loners, they go to the far left corner until their mate arrives and then they get matched.

Undies are just thrown in, they are a total jumble, and so are bras....after hand-washing and hanging them.

However, my closet is organized by color and by style.....

I have intermittent OCD......
