We are blessed to be on Nature's doorstep.
We had wild turkeys yesterday at the cottage, and a weasel!
Last night, here at home, an unwelcome guest on our back porch - a skunk in full hair raising. Fortunately, the cat and I got back into the house before he/she wandered off.
Today, this deer came back. I just hope she doesn't come on our side of the fence and discover my hostas!

Hostas are like crack for deer.

Most definitely!
They've already eaten them at the cottage, and I brought home some hostas a few years ago.
However, now that the doe has discovered what's behind the fence, it's only a matter of time before she discovers my garden!!

Thanks Nature_Girl.
Great idea.
Won't fly with the H, though.
He likes the deer.
So do I.

Even though it is the back yard and has hostas, I do believe it is still a lawn.

It looks more like a geisha than an angel. I think you're safe.

Ninja Angels disguised as geisha - Come on people, you don't think they have Angels in Asia? How else would they be dressed? Even the deer is keeping an eye on that one!

Thanks for the tip NG! The deer are eating my lilies!

An old trick you can use to deer proof (more or less) your hostas is to string a clear monofilament (fishing) line around what you want to protect. Deer can't see well, and it will spook them if they bump into it. They won't jump it because they can't see it. I've used this trick for years on veggie gardens and strawberry patches. Works great. Just make sure to put it somewhere you don't walk at night!

Where we live the deer would eat the fishing line too ...
