Okay...so my daughter has never stayed with a stranger her whole life...she will be 1 in a week and a half... and she has always either stayed with my sister or her Godmother and sometimes her adopted nana.

Now on the flip side..she HAS stayed at the gym nursery for an hour before with people she doesn't know but I'm in the building....so that's a little different.

My sitter cancelled on me Sunday and I need someone to watch her for a couple of hours so I can do my long-run as I am training for my 3rd marathon in October.

This makes me feel so bad..... but I don't know what else to do?? My options are so limited on who can watch her for me. My mom isn't active in her life....and neither is sperm donor or his parents (not that I would trust them with my daughter anyways.....)

But....I feel guilty. I hate feeling like this.

Can the new sitter come over before Sunday just to get introduced and see how they click? I'd feel guilty about it too. Not that there's really an alternative, but maybe if she meets the new sitter beforehand you can assuage your jitters and make Piper a little more comfortable.

I doubt she can only because she has a little girl of her own that is 2 and Saturday I am slammed and won't be home most of the day. I have Piper's 1 year pictures to do that morning and then my bestie is having her 3 year olds birthday party that afternoon!

I did some research though and I found this lady through a local mommies support group on Facebook. I felt better about going that route than trying the newspaper or Craigslist. She watches another baby during the week too.

I guess it was only a matter of time before I was going to have to find a back-up sitter..... but it still bothers me a little bit. I just don't know what else I can do.

(((Shelly))) I'm sure everything will be fine. If she's recommended through your support group, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I just hope my daughter doesn't have a meltdown.... since she is a new person and all. I guess I just have to give it a try. I keep telling myself its only for a few hours tops. UGH...

Is she bringing her little girl too? Maybe if it's more like a playdate it would be easier for Piper?

Yes, her little girl will be there too! I'm hoping that will make it easier too!
