Wh and I sat down to watch a movie.

My phone went off. My brother, rather flustered says my aunt has had a heart attack and isn't expected to survive the night. My parents are on their way to the hospital. They called my other aunt but didn't have my cousins number so if possible could I call her.

I did. Left a message. And now all I can do is wait and wait and wait.

My father was here earlier in the day. Said the hospital called saying they wanted to release my aunt and he wasn't sure what to do other than bring her to their house and care for her until the power of attorney paperwork was done. A meeting was set for Thursday with the doctors. Ugh! Now it's waiting to find out if she will survive. Oh how things can take a turn for the worst in the blink of an eye.

Until I hear something I doubt I'll sleep. My concern is for my mother. She has been beside herself with fear for her sister, the questions of how they would take care of her.

This is going to be a long night...

Sending up prayers for her tonight.

It's my life now, my choices, my mistakes to make and my victories to celebrate. His choices made me free of liars and betrayers in my life. That is priceless.

Thank you!!!

Is it bad of me to feel a sense of relief? Perhaps that's not the right word... I love my aunt. I do. But honestly the thought of her in a nursing home (like the eldest sister) has broken my heart. She has no children. Is widowed. Has lived alone for many years in the home her and her husband built. I hated knowing that because of the almighty dollar she would be taken from that home and put in a nursing home. Home Care expensive...

It just didn't sit well with me, never has really, nursing homes. I understand it's necessary but I pray my kids let me live out my days at home...

Ugh! Still no news. Wh is tired. He wants to go to bed. I'll end up just laying there I'm sure.

Again thank you :).

There was no calls all night. My parents cells were off.

Just called my father again and talked. My aunt is stable for now. She had both a heart attack and what looks to be a stroke. He'll tell me more later. He had just gotten home and was going to sleep for a bit.

I didn't sleep much. I have a doctors appointment this morning so I'm making a sting pot of coffee. :)

I hope things go in such a way for your aunt that all involved will be left feeling that her end was okay. I think it's because you love your aunt that you may be thinking a massive heart attack might not be a bad way to go...if I'm reading you right.

Lord knows from all I've seen, that's what I'd hope for not only myself but anyone I care about. Shocking for those left behind, but a true blessing for someone who might otherwise wind up a mind and/or soul screaming for relief and release in a useless body trapped in a nursing home bed for heaven knows how long.

My thoughts are with you.

My mother was on the phone with the doctor when I went by.

They said she has opened her eyes. She's in the ICU and will stay there for now. They said she could recover or could go down hill. There's no way to tell. Today she's been in and out of tests. MRI, EKG, ECG, heart ultrasound... My parents have a meeting with the hospital tomorrow.

I just dont like nursing homes. If she recovers enough to be placed in one my mother wants her with their other sister. She's already spoken to that place.

Time will tell I guess.

Thank you all :).
