I have a really wacky, and very vivid dream I'd like interpreted...

Anyone want to take a gander at it? I've tried pulling all the major symbols together but can't seem to make any sense of it.

Did you yrygogle? I have gotten some awesome dream interpretation from that.

For instance I often dream I can fly. I learned that meant I am overcoming struggles in my life. Simple and certainly makes sense.

Yes, L2HM. I googled. That's where I got the meanings behind the major symbols. I just can't pull together a message from that.

Unless that's some reference to "gargoyle" in which case, no, there were no gargoyles in my dream!

Sometimes I find that if I write the story of the dream I am able to then tie the symbols to certain aspects of my life.

C'mon, tell us the dream and let us analyze you!

Okay. You asked for it.

My dream:
Iím at a beach house with my family. The house is built up on stilts in case of flooding in the area. Iíve been to this exact house with my family before on vacation.

There has been a flood and weíre stuck in our house. Sis, DS and I are standing on the porch of the house, watching below. Below us, there is a raging river roaring by. In the water are tons of alligators or crocodiles (maybe both, canít tell) swimming by in the torrent.

Suddenly from the depths of this flood/river a man-figure begins to emerge. He is obviously male, no discernible facial features, but light blue all over, with reptilian skin. He swims up from below and begins to climb out of the flood, using blunted claws to heave his way up from the water using the stilt wood. He makes his way up the side of the house and he has this thing on/in his head like a triceratops- you know, the bony protuberance that angles backwards? Yeah.

So I freak out and run inside the house, thinking my sis and DS are following me. They didnít. They remain outside. Then a short time later, my sis comes inside the house and I asked her, ďdid you leave DS outside?!Ē We look out the window and blue reptile man has his arm on DSí shoulder, very nonthreatening and serene, watching the river/alligators below.

Then the dream ended when I woke up.

I think it is about your X (speculating since I know nothing about your X). He is invading your "good place" in your mind (the beach house). You conjure an image of him from the bad thoughts (the river with alligators). He is potentially dangerous (reptilian, carries an abject that could be a weapon) and you want to avoid him at all costs. Regardless, he recognize that not everyone thinks he is evil and you recognize that he is good to DS.

If not your X, then perhaps someone or something else that you dislike but think may be good for DS.

I feel like your dream was not a nightmare. It feels like the images are "grounded." The house on stilts, family surrounding you.

The river is a symbol for life in literature. The alligator/crocodile is an ancient creature. So to be looking at life and seeing a history with teeth, that then climbs from the river to confront you...

I like the idea that your son sits upon the shoulders of the history, perhaps a scary and painful history, but he is lifted up by it.

And you used the word serene. You are at peace with where DS is in life.

Clarification:
carries an abject that could be a weapon

He's not carrying a weapon.

I like the idea that your son sits upon the shoulders of the history, perhaps a scary and painful history, but he is lifted up by it.

The blue reptilian man (BRM) and DS are standing side by side watching below. BRM has his arm resting on DS' shoulder. DS is not afraid. I come to be unafraid in the dream as I realize BRM means us no harm.

Symbols I found:

Color Blue:

Blue represents truth, wisdom, heaven, eternity, devotion, tranquility, loyalty and openness. Perhaps you are expressing a desire to get away.

Flood:

To dream that you are in a flood represents your need to release some sexual desires. If the flood is raging, then it represents emotional issues and tensions. Your repressed emotions are overwhelming you.

Alligator:
To see an alligator in your dream symbolizes treachery, deceit, and hidden instincts. It may be a signal for you to take on a new perspective on a situation. It may also represent your ability to move between the physical, material world of waking life and the emotional, repressed world of the subconscious. Alternatively, the alligator represents healing powers and qualities. An alligator also suggests that you are thick-skinned or insensitive.

Crocodile:
To see a crocodile in your dream symbolizes freedom, hidden strength and power. It also forewarns of hidden danger. Someone near you is giving you bad advice and is trying to sway you into poor decisions. Because crocodiles can live in water and on land, they also represent your conscious and subconscious and the emotional and rational. Perhaps something is coming to the surface and you are on the verge of some new awareness.

Beach:

To see the beach in your dream symbolizes the meeting between your two states of mind. The sand is symbolic of the rational and mental processes while the water signifies the irrational, unsteady, and emotional aspects of yourself. It is a place of transition between the physical/material and the spiritual.

Claw:
To see claws in your dream signify feelings of vulnerability and/or hostility. You feel a need to defend or protect yourself or your surroundings. You also need to be careful with your words and actions.

I just can't fit it all together.
