That is what FT called me up until his affairs started.

Well I hate that name now and NO ONE will ever call me that again. It has NO good memories for me when FT was still calling me his pet name, cheating, and lying to me.

So I'm getting gas today and I had trouble with the gas hose nozzel. The attendant came out and the poor innocent man said, "I'll reset the pump and move you to the next one, Sweet Pea."

I told him that name isn't one I like and I AM divorced from the FT that called me that. I didn't trigger but said my preference of not being called that name.
Poor guy didn't know what hit him.

JUST DON'T EVER FUCKING CALL ME SWEET PEA !! NEVER !!

I'll resist the temptation, but can I call you toots?

That poor guy ! I live in a small town and only one person usually working. When he sees a black SUV pull up to the pumps, he'll probably put the closed sign on.

You may need to bring him a baked good and an apology next time you see him.

Baked goods might be a good idea.

License plates are a perfect solution. It would warn everyone who I am.
Wonder if I can change my SI name ?

Baked goods... I could give you a good recipe for split pea soup.

I think the vanity plate is a grand idea!!

On the serious side, good for not triggering. WTG!! And for voicing your preference. If you told him you prefer "honey... Honey badger" (in the Bond, James Bond) style he might swoon at your feet!!!

I hate it when strangers call me 'pet' names. Way too familiar. I was called 'hun' at the eye office by the receptionist the other day and it felt so disrespectful - I think she was just used to talking to her kids that way.

There is a lot of trouble to be caused by using pet names with people you don't know.

Good for you for not triggering and just giving the guy a hard time. He now knows he can take that sweet pea and stuff it where the sun don't shine.
