It's Wednesday. Thank goodness it's not Monday. So that's a positive.
I found out yesterday on my way home, from picking up our daughter from my mom's house, that a friend of mine, who was battling cancer had passed away the night before. Her funeral is on Friday. Our church is hosting it along with the pot luck afterward. Why is it that when a friend dies, it's harder than when a parent dies? That's how I feel at least. Maybe I had accepted my dad's passing long before he died (2 years ago) while he was in the hospital due to cancer throughout his body. I had time then to prepare myself. And it's not like the friend that passed away was close, but we had a good time together when we were playing bells for church. Once, her mallet went flying back to the back row on accident. Duck!!! Her and I played the big bells, the ones that are too heavy to pick up and ring. So we had mallets.
So i have that on my mind. I also have H and that whole mess on my mind, and that the other night i flat out asked him if "she" is pregnant. We were in the middle of an argument, and it just came out. Oh my gosh. Why then??? So needless to say, it's a bit tense in our house right now.
there's more... my mom has a biopsy come the 16th of this month. She had 2 mamo's and an ultrasound, and there's something there. She is religious about getting her mamos every year, like clockwork. There wasn't anything there last year.
Today was a bad day to wear mascara.

This sucks.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I think losing our friends reminds us of our own mortality. We never think we're "old enough" to pass on.

I hope your friend went peacefully.

I think when we loose a friend it our age it really hits home how fragile life is. Also when you are under a lot of stress it just makes it that much harder to deal with.

Hang in there. About your mom, the not knowing is the hard part. The good news is it wasn't there last year, so that most likely means that they have caught it early, so treatment hopefully won't be horrible. (my own mom's breast cancer was found that way, she had a lumpectomy, and radiation therapy, she is 21 years out now, and still clean).

I know how you feel with being overwhelmed. A few weeks ago I had a week like that too.
I had a bad mammogram, my FIL had emergency surgery, my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer, and both of our vehicles had breakdowns....Needless to say 3 weeks later, both cars are running, FIL is out of the hospital, my mamm ended up being "something to watch", and my dad's prostate cancer is something to watch as well.
My point is that even though it seems overwhelming now, this too will pass.

The funeral on Friday was nice. One person, who rings bells with us, actually, she's stands right behind me, approached me and said that as soon as she heard about Kathy's passing, she thought of me. So she says, "I am sorry for your loss." I looked at her a little puzzled, and she said that when I joined bells over a year ago, that Kathy and I hit it off right away and really enjoyed ourselves and danced around while playing and joked around, etc. She said that she really enjoyed watching us play, and we were her entertainment. Ya, can you say a tear fell down my cheek?

This sucks.
