Ever walk into a room with some purpose in mind, only to completely forget what that purpose was? Turns out, doors themselves are to blame for these strange memory lapses. Psychologists at the University of Notre Dame have discovered that passing through a doorway triggers what's known as an Event Boundary in the mind, separating one set of thoughts and memories from the next. Your brain files away the thoughts you had in the previous room and prepares a blank slate for the new locale. Thank goodness for studies like this. It's not our age, it's that damn door!

I don't know about you, but I am choosing to believe this. Because it was on the internet. So it must be true.

I'm going to the garage right now to get my tools to remove all the doorways in my house.

Wait. What did I come into the garage for?

Wow! I guess it explains why we walk back thru the door to remember the previous thought.

Sadly, this explains my day - aimlessly walking around leaving thoughts in each room that have nothing to do with the room they are in and everything to do with the next room.

Oh we'll at least I M getting exercise walking around-of course nothing is getting done.
