Yesterday afternoon, Un-ex and I went to a music festival and had a wonderful, glorious day. We shagged (for the UK members that is a DANCE) all afternoon. Even though alcohol was sold at the venue , the strongest drink either of us had was sweet tea.

We headed back to my house a little after 7. Un-ex was in front of me in his truck on a four-lane highway. A car made a left turn, directly into him. I watched as he tried to steer out of it, the car hit him, he became airborne and came back down doing a 180, facing south instead of north now with traffic coming at him head on.

He's pretty sore this morning. Truck is totalled. People were amazing, stopping to help, staying to be witnesses to the police officer.

Point of my story--as I watched him being hit and going airborne, I was praying, "God, please don't let him flip." Since I'm an atheist, I don't know if words like that have ever come out of my mouth before. Watching the man I love and adore be in such a terrible wreck, drove home how lucky both of us are to have found our way back to each other. I do love him with all the depth and breadth of my soul.

Thankfully no humans were hurt in the wreck--only the vehicles. He loved that truck but there are other trucks to be had.

He has been asking me to re-marry him for years. When we got home last night, I went to my dresser, took our the ringbox that he tried to give me over three years ago. I handed it to him and he got down on one knee and proposed. I said yes.
