I LOVE the show--can't get enough. My daughter and her boyfriend were cast as extras and will be in the next episode or the next to last one--so excited! She shot two scenes with Walt Jr. at his high school in the principals office and the in Walt Jr's classroom. She had to sign a contract as to not reveal any info--she knows how it ends--it's KILLING me.

Some really bad shooting in that last scene. It strains credibility that no one was hit. Other than that, great show!

In fairness, there were bulletproof vests involved, and a lot of the shooting was with shotguns at a distance.

Yeah, but there were automatic weapons, too. And if all those bullets were piercing the car that Walt is in, how is HE not hit? I think Hank's partner took one though....at least it looked like it.

I hate how they set it up though, with Hank and Marie having that weird phone call first. OF COURSE we expected Bad Things to happen then!

I'm just so sad that the series is ending. There's so little quality tv like this and too much reality crap. I LIVE in reality, often crap-filled. I need the escape of good writing and acting!

And I must say, I'm a little worried about the spinoff they are making with the Saul character. I hate spinoffs.

Really surprised we aren't running a dead pool.

My picks are Hank, Gomez, and two random gang members. Betting Jesse manages to sneak off into the rocks and survive.

If Hank and Gomez do not survive, then Walt has a get out of jail free card. Aren't they the only ones who know?

I saved the gif, btw - thanks for that, wonderboy!

I THOUGHT Gomez got hit?? Did he? Maybe in the arm? I need to watch it again.

Well, Hank was getting much closer to the truck than poor Gomie. I'm betting definitely on Gomie being a goner...maybe Hank badly injured? Like, so where is comatose long enough for Walt to tie up loose ends and go into hiding?

I LOVE Aaron Paul (Jesse)! The LOOKS he manages to make with his face!!! MAN is he good! And I just love the super-gravelly sound of his voice. I can't wait to see what he does after BB.

And it's weird seeing "Marie" in the commercials for the new Michael J. Fox comedy...

Did anyone else see Giancarlo Esposito (Gus) on Once Upon a Time? Great to see him in such a meek, goofy role. And now he's back to being a baddie on Revolution.

Great actors and writing, like a great book, just transport me away...such a relief from the daily grind.

Did you all notice that the promos for this week's show were a voice-over of Skyler leaving a voicemail for Walt asking him if he was coming home and to please call??

And the next episode is called "Ozymandias" and Vince Gilligan said we will "look on his works and despair" like in the poem.

This show is seriously killing me. One of the best scenes ever is Walt driving through traffic while becoming unhinged about the money and screaming at Jesse, telling him everything he'd done. That was awesome.

And at the very end of last week they showed Jesse with his hand on the car door, starting to open it...

So my guess is that Walt takes off after this shootout. He's either in hiding or fleeing.

My guess is that both Hank and Gomez are goners.

Eranda, YES! I heard that VM Skyler left and it sounded bleak...

I am re-watching tonight to see if I can determine whether Gomie really did get hit. Maybe he was just flinching, what with Hell raining down on him and all.

Meanwhile, about a dozen people have sent me the YouTube link to Jimmy Fallon's "Joking Bad" sketch!

Hit or not in the last episode, there is no way that Hank or Gomez survive. If either of them survives, it is because they won the fight, and the show is over. The idea of being just wounded or comatose, lets not forget they are going up against Todd... I just don't see him as the type to offer aid and comfort to the fallen, while the neck tatoos suggest the rest of them would happily kill Gomez just because they can. They also need to keep Hank alive and free from their perspective, because they need him to show them how to make things blue.

I think Gomez was hit, there was blood on his shirt I think.

Here's what I do not understand:

if the skinheads kill Hank and Gomez (and possibly Jesse) then that is the best possible outcome for Walt. He's not responsible (he didn't pull the trigger), and the skinheads don't know they're there because that's where the money is.

So Walk walks... no more Hank or Gomez to worry about- and they're the only cops that know the true story. So... cop problems? Over.

So WHY is Walt in the car yelling for them not to shoot???

Because Walt still feels some connection and responsibility to his family, otherwise he would have dumped ricin in the burritos at the restaurant. On the phone he called off the hit when he saw that it was Hank with Jesse.

Agree with Aesir - Hank "is family," according to Walt, remember? Can't order hits on family. Seems to be (at least until now...) the only line Walt won't cross.

Question: We're not clear on whether Uncle Jack & Co. know that Walt is in the back of the car, right? I mean, I know Walt was screaming but I didn't get that they heard or saw him.

I think Hank and Gomie end up dead. Gomie's probably already dead. Walt, Hank Jesse get captured by NeoNazis. Hank, I think, is bleeding out and will soon die, but not before a "Fuck You, Walt" speech...or he begs for his life and Walt kills him, completing his turn towards becoming Darth Vader. Walt and Jesse remain captured and forced to cook together. Once Marie realizes that Hank has gone missing, she freaks out and confronts Skyler, who swears she doesn't know what's going on. Walt escapes, and either by accident or on purpose, Jesse doesn't. After a few days, the DEA comes looking for Hank and searches his house...either at Marie's request or due to their own investigation. Maybe Marie tries to tell them about Walt...maybe not. One way or another, they find the DVD that Walt made and put two and two together. They think Hank fled to evade capture, and Gomie was in on it. They think Marie is covering for Hank. Marie, sort of a psychologically unstable person already, snaps under the strain. She spazzes and somehow manages to poison one of the kids while trying to get Skyler (or Walt, since she doesn't know he's missing, too). This destroys any kind of vestige of warmth Skyler has for her sister. She has a long history of needing psychological treatment, including kleptomania and thoughts of poisoning someone close to her. That means the DEA isn't going to believe her story (the truth) anyway, and she seems like a prime candidate for a dissociative break with reality under prolonged mental stress. The DEA come looking for Walt, and he confesses to the stuff he said on the DVD, and maybe the whole family goes witness protection. Skyler has no objections, because really, she hates Marie now. Walt comes back to rescue Jesse from the Nazis, and maybe to poison Lydia. When he comes back, though, I think Jesse may be running shit somehow...I mean, Jesse had been both a passive and active observer of every single facet of the meth trade. He's seen complex schemes come to fruition, he's seen how things SHOULD run, under Gus. He's seen all the mistakes and all the triumphs. He's uniquely situated to RUN THIS SHIT. Thoughts?

Yo, yo, I am betting my fat stacks that funerals are in the near future for Hank and Gomie. We already know that Walt survives to his 52nd bday in NH. He gets off because they are the only ones in law enforcement who know his secrets.

I hope Pinkman survives, he's my favorite character. I also think that Marie may end up dining on a ricin sandwich, and psycho Todd will be Walt's next murder.

Can't wait until tomorrow!!

PS: Re-watched the end of episode 5/13 and could not tell for sure if anyone was hit.

FP, interesting, but your theory needs at least two more episodes than they have left, which is already four more episodes than they originally planned to tell the story that basically has not changed.

I still think NH is related to a vacuum cleaner purchase.

FP - INTERESTING! It sorta makes sense to me. Although, as aesir mentioned, things would have to move VERY quickly and time is of the essence.

I watched it again, too, and it LOOKS like Gomie might've been hit very close to the end of the episode. But he fired afterward, so if he was hit, that one must not have been the bullet that I fear is going to take him out

BTW, my favorite line thus far from this part of season five - Huell, lying on the money pile: "Mexico. All's I'm sayin."

So sad to hear that Better Call Saul is going to be done as a prequel. That means no Huell. Early on they were saying prequel so that they could include Gus Fring, but that makes no sense to me, as Saul is not the one who knew Gus, that was Mike. Be interesting to have Mike back though.

I was thinking that, too. And in order for Lydia to *deserve* the ricin, she''d need to do some serious grime before then as well.

Wait, why couldn't Huell appear in a prequel? Do we know that he just came around in Walt time? If so, I don't remember that...Maybe he was with Saul for a long time prior to Saul meeting Walt? I cannot remember....

And way to be murky, Vince Gilligan! I just checked the guide on TV and here's the description of tonight's ep (titled Ozymandias): "Everyone copes with radically changed circumstances."

Ya think?!

Is anyone else thinking that Todd is either poorly written/researched/acted, or an incredibly more complex character than the narrative can explore.

He does not seem to fit as a psychopath, and he is not nearly the dumb follower that he first appears to be. Almost like a cross between Mad Max and Emily Post. I so want to see the actor on Talking Bad to see what he has to say about the character.

I would go with the latter explanation. He's quick on the trigger but he's also smart enough to save Jesse's life so he can use him to cook meth for the purpose of pleasing Lydia. Underestimate him at your own peril.

I think that was just a surface motivation... I think he might really have been trying to save Jessie, fucked up I know, but the two of them did have a connection back when they all worked together. I'm thinking this because of something his uncle said when returning a barrel of money to Walt, about how his nephew would never forgive him if it went down any other way...

Just find that whole angle fascinating, and regret that it could not have been explored deeper before the impending carnage.

I am thinking now that Walt will use his arsenal to take out Uncle Jack and his Merry Band of Skinheads and, ultimately, free Jesse.

And poor Walt Jr./Flynn Great performance from RJ Mitte (who is getting cuter by the episode - just adorable).

and, ultimately, free Jesse
My only thing is that he doesn''t know Jesse''s alive. I do believe that the skinheads intimated that they were going to kill Jesse after finding out what he told the DEA.

The only other thing I can think of is in the scene where Jesse is on his knees about to be executed, and Jack is busy talking to Todd, Jesse is looking dead at Walt, but he has a strange look on his face... But you can''t see Walt''s face or mouth. Could he have been silently mouthing something to Jesse?

Watched it again. It definitely looks like Jesse mouthed something like, "No way" after shooting Walt a quizzical look.

FP, I interpreted that "No way" (that's what I thought he said, too...) as just utter dismay on Jesse's part, but now you've got my wheels turning...maybe he and Walt did have some sort of secret exchange.

No idea how you watched this again! I am still reeling from Sunday night!

If Cranston and the show both don't win Emmys for this season, I may never watch TV again.

I watched it again last night... I was just as exhausted when it ended the second time.

But wow, what a tight episode. Every scene counted, every action had a purpose.

What I found MOST upsetting- believe it or not- was Jesse yelling "NO!!" when the skinheads were pulling him out from under the car and taking him away. That shit was REAL- he actually sounded scared as hell. Like cringe-inducing scared.

And that phone conversation between Walk and Skyler? Holy crap that was good.

The phone convo - Walt is exonerating Skyler! She's gonna look like SNOW "White" to the cops! Amazing!

And the Hank scene - OMG is right!

Too many OMG's!!!

I'm getting a "YO BITCH" Fat Head!!! Well, maybe not only because it might scare off the family! But I LOVE the way Jesse says "BITCH!" Like he has marbles in his mouth.

Roller - I'm drinking coffee right this minute from my mug that says: "Mexico. All's I'm sayin'!"

Gotta go back to see if there are any mugs that say, "Yeah, Bitch! Magnets!"

Question: what ever happened with Wendy? Did they ever say? Was she killed because of her role in the poisoning attempt, or did she just kind of go away?

That's a shame.

The scene where Wendy was doin' her thing to the song "Windy" was great. I really liked her character. She was a complete, utter mess, as low as she could get, but she still didn't betray Jesse and she showed so much courage in trying to help him.

Is anyone else as impressed as I am with how good they make Jesse look each time he gets the crap beat out of him? He seriously looks like he really did get beaten.

Well, my daughter and her boyfriend's 15 seconds of fame ended up on the cutting room floor I guess! Boo. They were extras in a scene where Walt Jr. was told about his dad and the fact that Hank is dead and it took place in the principal's office at Walt Jr.'s high school--but as we all know now they ended up telling him at the car wash. Oh well that's Hollywood!

LoveActually, shame your daughter didn't make the final cut. A lot of shows film alternate scenes so they can keep everyone, including the actors, in the dark about the shows conclusion.

LOL! Could I turn those cuff links into earrings? Hmmm...

OK, Baddies - what did you all think of last night's ep?

Wondering why the Merry Band of Skinheads didn't just off Jesse. He's been cooking a while now and got the meth up to 92 percent pure (and blue!). So why can't Todd just pick it up from there? He was a pretty good cook before and he's had Jesse apparently for months now. Does he keep sparing Jesse's life because he thinks his crush, Lydia, would think badly of him if he killed Jesse?

And OMG - the scene with Andrea just about did me in - as did Walt Jr.'s phone call with Walt.

Another question plaguing me: If Walt's still on chemo (administered by Vacuum Guy...oy!), how come his hair grew back?

Congrats to Anna Gunn on her well-deserved Emmy! She looked stunning. No surprise that the show won, too, although I was disappointed that Cranston didn't get one.

I had to turn away from the TV at the scene with Andrea. I looked at my husband and asked "Why are we watching this disgusting TV show?" His response was "I don't know!" Poor, poor Jesse! And them saying "Remember there's still the kid!" Oh.my.g-d!

If I were Jesse I'd piss in the next batch! Just kill me now!

If Jack keeps teasing Todd about what's-her-name Todd's going to go on a killing spree!

I'm wondering if Skyler is going to make it. My heart was pounding when Todd and Jack and the boys "visited" with her at the house.

The rest of the episode was just meh. I know they had to set up the finale though.

Look out!

Okay, my take on this...

Lydia would not have a problem with offing Jesse.

Todd does not need Jesse to cook.

As strange as this may seem, I think Todd has a problem with killing Jesse, and the needing him to cook is a ruse to keep him alive.

WTF? I know, you are all thinking Todd is a stone cold killer, and aesir has been sampling some of Heisenberg's product.

I think Todd has difficulty as seeing people he doesn't know as people, so it is easy for him to kill strangers. once he gets to know them, it is different. Firstly, Jack had to give a barrel of money to Walt because Todd would not accept it happening any other way. Skyler gets a warning based on Lydia demanding she be taken care of. Did anyone else notice that when Lydia complained about a message not being sufficient that Todd looked truly disturbed by the idea of killing her? And what about Todd bringing Jesse two kinds of ice cream because he didn't know which was his favorite? I think the whole treatment of Jesse is because Todd can't figure out any other way of keeping him alive when everyone else is worried about remaining safe. (Based on the reactions during the shootout, I don't think Todd really worries about safe.)

My guess is that since Todd has such a difficult time forming any sort of relationship, or even viewing others as actual people, that when he does find one he can form a bond with it becomes that much more important to him, and he can not just discard the relationship/person the way so many others can.

I really didn't expect the whole thing with Saul, though I suppose that should not be a surprise based on what he knows about who knows things.

Todd obviously has sociopathic tendencies and is therefore more dangerous than any of them because he is totally unpredictable. He can be caring one moment and then shoot somebody in the head the next, with an apology in advance. Or like he told Walt after the execution of Hank, "Sorry for your loss."

Lydia, on the other hand, is just as capable of murder but does it from a distance through proxies. They are quite the odd couple.

Jesse is like a wounded animal now, which when cornered can cause great harm to others.

Walt, having realized that everything he has done for his family did them more harm than good, is probably thinking "Oh, what the hell?"

These 4 characters will somehow collide in the finale, along with Neo-Nazis, DEA agents, and who knows who else? It should make for quite an ending.

Heads' up, Baddies:

The Breaking-Bad-a-Thon begins Wednesday at 8 m EDT! Join me in reliving a simpler time, when Walt's bacon numbers were cute versus sad and creepy, and poor Skyler thought her biggest problem was that Jesse was selling pot to Walt!

Call me stupid, but I don't get how watching his former Grey Matter buddies prompted Walt to run and fight another day rather than giving up (like he seemed ready to do before he saw the show).

Of course they are distancing themselves from him. Of course they're not giving him credit. He's an egomaniac...is that the answer?

That sounds about right. But instead of killing them, maybe he could talk them into funneling his money to his family once he passes on.

The cast was on Conan last night along with Vince Gilligan. There was a hilarious commercial where the barrel was used for an exercise program.

It's not on You Tube yet. Instead we'll have to settle for this Conan interview from April of this year.

He was last seen in New Hampshire now. The police in Albuquerque are going to assume he's on the run and not in the area. When he returns, he will have some time before they figure out he's back and begin an active search.

I think there were two different things at work there, one when they said his only contribution to the company was the name, yet it was how history played out with that company that drove him to refuse to sell the methylamine and instead keep going with the cooking himself.

The second thing was at the very end, when Gretchen talked about the smart sensitive Walt being gone, though she could not speak about Heisenberg. For a long time in the woods he reverted to being Walt, the mild mannered chemistry teacher dealing with a shit hand. First his old friends disparage his decent past, then, then declare him dead, and only Heisenberg is left.

I wonder how much head start he has on his plans before Carol alerts the police he is back.

Vince Gilligan's word for the final episode: "Woodworking."

Jack snarked that Lydia's private area might contain a woodchipper. Will we see someone end up in a woodchipper during the finale, ala 'Fargo?'

Great finale. Tied up pretty much everything in nice neat package.

The two "assasins" scene cracked me up.

I loved those characters.

The scene with badger dressed up in the dollar bill costume spontaneously pops in my head. I'm sure I look odd laughing to myself in public.
