I have my first MC session coming up. Don't know what to expect and am a little nervous. Do any of you have any advise, warnings, or guidance? Is there any prep work I need to do?

Remember that ultimately your MC is someone you have hired to help you work out relationship issues, not someone there to pick sides and validate or condemn on a personal level. Some are great at their jobs and some are terrible. If you feel this person isn't helping your marriage, don't hesitate to drop that counselor and look for a different one.

Don't worry too much. Good luck man.

I agree with StillGoing. Just stay focused on why you're there. It was a bit difficult for me in the beginning to open up to a stranger with the WH in the room as well (I had done IC before and it wasn't as awkward to me) but it was nice to get it out. Unfortunately we didn't end up being able to go long enough to get to the affair stuff, so I have no advice as far as that's concerned. Hang in there, and good luck.

Try not to expect too much the first session esp if it's just an hour. This is more of a get to know you thing.

Don't put up with side picking, and don't let the MC allow the WS to get away with what they have done to get you there. Do be prepared to look at the M prior to the A, and for things that happened prior to it. Don't accept blame for any of the A and A related activites though.

That shouldn't take long. I barely had returned my tux before it started.
