The house next door needs some major rehab. No one lives there. About 2 months ago I meet the adult son who has been granted power of attorney over the estate. Nice man, quiet and definitely an introvert.(I am extroverted to say the least) He lives an hour away. He is trying to sell the house.

We have talked many times over the past few months. Yesterday he was showing the property to another potential buyer and stopped by to say hello.

I mention that I am going to be driving into the city to see my college roommate that I have not seen in 14 years and he offers me a ride! At first I say No Thank U.

Then I think that this is a stupid response!

I walk next door and ask if the offer is still good. He was such a gentleman.

We had a nice conversation. He was polite and I think nervous.

I know that I was. I started to get nervous about his age. I look young for my age. His children are much younger than mine (which he knows). He told me that he keeps meeting women in their 40's that want children. Damn I am 53 and beyond child-bearing age.

I could go on but in the end this is an adventure.

Breathe and take it slow.

You never know. Why shouldn't nice people find nice people on occasion. Statistically, why should all the jerks and head cases land on our door steps? Everything reverts to the mean. If the universe was too tilted in the other direction and you finding happiness turns out to be a consequence of a reversion to equilibrium, I applaud it. I will keep it to a polite golf clap for the time being, but I am cheering on the inside.

Well good for you for turning back around and accepting that ride! You never know what lies around each corner...and you'll never find out if you dont take a chance.

So....yay! Good for you! Have fun!!

He also texted me 3 times the next day to make sure I had figured out the train schedule to get home. To thank me for the nice conversation etc.
I took a chance after being inspired by the recent posts especially meeting in the grocery check-out. Thanks Traildad!

He sounds really sweet! I hope I can meet a guy "the old fashioned way!" And NOT from O.L.D. (online dating)
