I took the online depression test actually I took 3 of them and scored severe. It does run in my family so it's not all "a" related.
I've always been a little OCD. And not controlling per say as organized. Obviously not too controlling if my wh had soooo much time to have an "a".
I've always been strong enough with vitamins and excercise to control my negative thoughts but with the "a" thrown into the mix it's been to hard.
I'm soooo angry all the time I do not let it affect my kids but my wh and my parents and some friends r getting a terrible backlash. I'm tired all the time I can't sleep I've stopped doing fun activities I used to enjoy. Obsessive thoughts and behaviours.
Has anyone had really great succes with anti depressants and if so which ones?

I had good success with Effexor a few years ago. After Dday, I was put on Celexa and had too many side effects.

It's really trial and error, and you need to have patience to find the right one for you.

I went this past Thursday and took the exam. Once my Dr looked at my papers he said "Wow you really need some help". He hadn't even tallied up my scores yet. I'm severely depressed and have severe anxiety as well. He put me on Paxil. I haven't felt the effects yet. I'm breastfeeding so he gave me hydroxyzine (safest bet)for the anxiety and I take a triple dose for sleeping. I googled hydroxyzine bc my kids have all taken it for colds and allergies, its one of those "cure all" meds that is used for a lot of things.

The anxiety medication works well for me, not as good as I would like but were experimenting with dosage right now.

Theres nothing wrong with needing help, anything you need to do to help yourself be healthier. I cried like a baby in the office but afterwards I felt such a relief.

My dr told me to answer the questions as if I was answering them to myself and nobody else would see them. That helped, if I would've worried about what he thought I would have minimized A LOT.

((((hugs))))

Please see your Dr and get some help. If you are familiar with symptoms and believe you are experiencing them, then I would recommend you seek some assistance. Otherwise you might spiral too far.

I am currently trying to stop the AD I have been on them for almost 2 years. Without them I think I may have harmed myself as I believed it was the 'easier' option. I am much happier generally and more at peace then I have ever been.

It isn't the easier option, there is no shame in admitting you need some help to get past this. It won't always be this bad. Please believe that.

I've been on antideps in past - don't need them at the moment but plenty of time for that
I'm a family physician - your dr will have seen people who have been BS before, maybe they have been a BS or a WS themselves (medicine is a rubbish career for M longevity)
I went to my doctor and he was brilliant - really helped me with sensible advice and reassurance

Good luck with it

I was on Celexa first and didn't like it. Now I'm on Wellbutrin, which I love.

My only advice is to very, very carefully follow the prescription, dosages and interactions regardless of what you are prescribed.

Do not take any more OR less than prescribed. Do not mix with anything, not even once, as instructed by your physician.

Missing a dose, or taking an extra dose when feeling bad can make things worse, so using AD's should be done with care for the best results.

That being said, AD's are a wonderful tool to help and aid recovery. It is difficult to think straight or make good decisions with a strangled and confused mind, or with sleep deprivation/hunger issues from malnourishment. A good regimen of AD's can help with sleep, eating disorders from trauma and overall improve your mental clarity in the short to medium term from trauma... which infidelity clearly is trauma!

Good luck!
