When WH confessed his affair he was literally sick to his stomach. I assumed he had the stomach flu and tried to take care of him...

Fast forward to today (18 months later) and WH comes home from work feeling nauseous. He started drinking ginger ale and taking Gravol. I started to trigger immediately.

I explained to him how I was feeling. I know he can't do anything about it. I feel guilty for reacting this way. Help! How do I get rid of this trigger? He is going to get sick and I can't continue to react like this.

What a mare that must be. One thing you could do is look after him while he vomits whilst thinking "this is a little bit of payback for what you did to me."

"Watching you physically vomit is like watching you purge yourself of OW. "

Maybe this will help ease the trigger and turn it into something you can then cope with.
