Recently, I've see so much advertising/songs promoting infidelity that it makes me sick.

Up in Philadelphia there was a billboard adversting a cheeting club. Recently I checked my spam folder and I have Ashley Madison advertising in there.

This morning this song by Squeeze was played. The lyrics suck.

How is a BS able to get away from all this crap and madness?

Tempted by Sqeeze (Lyrics)

I bought a toothbrush, some toothpaste, a flannel for my face
Pajamas, a hairbrush, new shoes and a case.
I said to my reflection, Let's get out of this place.
Passed the church and the steeple, the laundry on the hill
Billboards and the buildings
Memories of it still keep calling
And calling
But forget it all I know I will
Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered
What's been going on
Now that you have gone
There's no other
Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered
I'm at the carpark, the airport, the baggage carousel
The people keep on grabbing, ain't wishing I was well
I said, "It's no occasion. It's no story I can tell."
At my bedside, empty pocket, a foot without a sock
Your body gets much closer
I fumble for the clock, alarmed by
The seduction
I wish that it would stop
Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered
What's been going on
Now that you have gone there's no other
Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered
I bought a novell, some perfume, a fortune all for you
But it's not my conscience that hates to be untrue.
I asked of my reflection,
Tell me what is there to do?
Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered
What's been going on
Now that you have gone there's no other
Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered

Squeeze has been one of our go-to CDs to listen to for 15 years. It came up about a month ago and I told him we will never listen to that song again, he looked at me like I had 2 heads.

It's everywhere, and I hate it. I saw a billboard advertisement with a picture of a peanut butter sandwich, and the tagline was something like, "Peanut butter and milk were made for each other. Jelly was just a fling." So casual, no big deal, just have something on the side. I have lived through the death of a loved one, I have survived rape.. this is by far the worst trauma and suffering I have ever endured. It's a big deal.

Wow! Now isn't this an awakening for me? Didn't pay much attention to those lyrics but XWH played that song quite a lot in our early years. Huh! Now that I know he had an ONS a month before our wedding day, fitting.

My IC tells me to listen to music to get my mind off the bad thoughts...really has she listened to some of the lyrics today! But it is just a song, and the way we feel when we hear it is the WS's fault. Some songs will never be heard in my house again. Just the consequence of his bad acts.

WH and I saw this played live shortly after Dday and I left the venue sobbing.

From songs to the stupid State Farm "Jake" commercial, the reminders are everywhere and it's crazy-making.

Faithfully by Journey was my favorite song now I can't stand to listen to it. Because it reminds me that my husband is a cheating liar.

Just today I had the conversation with wh that a specific song, "I will wait for you" is not where I am in our marriage. I won't wait for him ever again. If he ever chooses to contact chickie again, if he ever chooses to berate me again, if he ever chooses to put his head so far up his backside that he's stupid, I WILL NOT be around when he sees the light again. He doesn't like it, but I don't care. I WON'T wait for him again.

ME - Betrayed Spouse
Him - Wayward spouse
Not sure, but trying I guess.

So many things are triggering me now - it seems like cheating is brought up in so many shows/movies/media and even positive stuff like the ad with the artist saying she loves designing wedding jewelry 'because it's forever' makes me yack.

There were times when I was glad I can't understand the lyrics of the songs... I just focused on the beat.

Damn you now I know that, that's a bad song...

Love is a choice.

True love is harder to come by than soul mates. True love requires work.
