He invited all his colleagues who are all married except one. At first I thought it was just couples so I didn't feel too bad. Anyway, I guess I'm more considered "support staff" so is that why? He was showing me pictures from the party pointing out his colleagues, etc. Not that I was dying to go or anything but I work directly for him and was ignored. Just seems odd. Thought maybe because I was single and younger than them maybe? Oh, well...just feels crappy.

I really miss the social aspect of my last job. There really isn't that here

That sucks. Sometimes, you just can't fathom the ignorance.

I'm sorry.

In my experience if he is in management then the party might be for the Management team.

I don't know what your role is but it is most likely the above. I worked on an account team and it was mainly senior people who would be invited or participate in events.

Hopefully there will be another holiday event at the company you can attend. I feel your disappointment - I miss a lot of the my past environment.

I actually made a slight 'stink' when I was told I wouldn't be invited to the first consular event (that I planned) when I first worked for them. I pointed out to the consul that I would have to work with all of the parties invited at some time or other, and it would go a long way toward gaining their trust and cooperation if I was considered part of the team.

I went to the party

I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.

Thanks guys. Trying not take this personally...gotta get used to the only socializing within your own pay level...not fun.
