Are we allowed to be superficial or do we have to say grown-up and mature things like world peace?

Aubrie- you read my mind! ::cue spooky music:: I was JUST about to come post that I want this to be completely selfish and superficial. No world peace or feed the hungry type posts. Not that those aren't worthy causes, people. Just go with it!

Exit Wounds- (((EW and kiddos)))

Gaby- my kind of girl with the Kitchenaid!

New laptop
Canon Rebel t3i (ok, I really want the 5)
Louis Vuitton tote
A week in Bora Bora
A big thick fuzzy blanket for my bed
Year's worth of free lawncare
A crate of Coke
A unicorn
That pot of gold at the end of the rainbow

I forgot one!

Fuzzy socks. Not toe socks! (Who the crap likes wedgies on their feet!?)

Just soft, thick, fuzzy, warm, normal socks. Because I was born with the world's coldest feet.

Nice Moo.

A big thick fuzzy blanket for my bed
Oooooh! Me too, me too!!!

Aubrie, hubby came home with a great "just because" present for me a week or so ago.
I expressed a need for a new heating pad. He went out and found something even better.
Its a plush, fuzzy WRAP (shawl) with a heating pad inside. OMG, I have been living in that thing in the evenings.

Oh woooowwwww! That sounds heavenly.

Yeah I thought I needed a heated blanket a couple years ago. Found something better. A heated mattress pad. Ohhhhh Honey! Talk about a whole new world of warmth and coziness!

Only the sound of my children whining, "But Mooommmm! It's lunchtime! We're HUNGRY! Pleeeease!?" makes me begrudgingly get out of bed.

Aubrie, you need to remember that line from Second Hand Lions:

I wouldn't mind an actual live friend or two to spend some time with...

A winter home somewhere in the south US that's already picked, furnished and ready for me so I don't have to figure anything out except when the next flight leaves.

A new hand blender for soapmaking would be nice...

I'd love a trip to a fabulous winter lodge, preferably in a national park. Then to be snowed in with lots of good food and adult beverages in front of a huge fireplace. I'll snowshoe during the day and knit in front of the fire all night.

I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.

I second Aubrie's comment on separated-toe socks. They are annoying. Also, people have varying toe lengths so they usually don't fit well. And they're not as warm - for the same reason gloves aren't as warm as mittens. Oh, I could go on all day about the woes of divided toes. Since it rhymes I could even make a poem :

'Twas the night before Christmas, oh pity our woes,
Our stockings won't hold #$!*!, 'cause of the stupid toes....

I WANT a new faux wood floor. (who thought carpet was a good thing... it's nothing but a PITA dirt, pollen magnet)

I'll probably GET a new bedspread. fWS calls my current bed spread the whore bedspread (ok so it "might" look like it came from the best little whorehouse in Texas). I'll be getting a "wholesome" bedspread with labrador puppies on it!

A pedicure and massage and someone to watch my kids while I get them.
A coat that doesn't make swishing noises
Some new bobby pins (mine constantly disappear and I always forget to get them myself)
Some new clothes - something between teacher professional and housework/gym clothes.
A nice pair of brown dress shoes for church. And maybe a black pair without a heel (it's impossible to hold my two-year-old's hand and carry my 7 month old while stooping because my heels make me too tall to reach his hand)

I'll be perfectly happy getting none of these things.

We're going tomorrow night to pick out my anniversary (12/14)/Christmas/Birthday (12/27) present and I can't wait.

I'm getting a super duper nice elliptical trainer. I really want one that has the google maps interface, cuz it would be SO cool to run all over the world.

- three pairs of Smart Wool socks 'cause it's COLD down in my wine shop. Yes...it's below street level and COLD.

- my hot flashes to go away so I can actually sleep through the entire night.

- my horse to realize SHE's the horse and wears the saddle and moves when I tell her to.

- to find the perfect hearty bread recipe for my bread maker.

Oh...and whirled peas.....

I wish i could have my dad with us this christmas because we all miss him so bad it hurts/

But in the relm of things I could have:

-a day off, I mean really off, no responsiblities.
- To be able to run without my nose running (it is a huge pain).
-a couple more pugs....I wish i had the space, I have become crazy pug lady.

Otherwise a kitchen aid with meat grinding attachment and pasta attachment would be great!
And some pretty awesome jammies!

I don't know what this ^^^ means...

Basically it's a piece of furniture designed to conceal a litterbox. I've been looking for a used piece of furniture to make-over into one because they are ridiculously overpriced. Turns out, used furniture is also ridiculously overpriced, I need to start yard-sailing.

Crescita, are your kitties ok with a fully enclosed litterbox? I know some of mine aren't, so I'd be hesitant with the furniture myself. Of course, I may just have a claustrophobic kitty.

Crescita, My dad made one for me. Plywood. 2 hinges. Saw. White paint. Rectangular cushion on top. Idk of that's all the tools he used, I wasn't there when he made it. It was sturdy enough for an adult to sit on. It wasn't as fancy as those you posted, but I thought it worked out well. Unfortunately, I don't have the space for it in my current place. My XH gave it to his mother.

MartlArts, my kitties are fine with the enclosed box, and I think this would be good because they would have more room and less opportunity to track litter all over.

Littleturtle, my SO thinks we should make one too, I'm just afraid project perfectionist mode will take over and it will end up costing a small fortune

Crescita - Haunt Craigslist and your local Goodwill/Salvation Army/etc. It may take a while, but something should turn up that you can use.

Not necessarily in that order, either!

A new printer. We've been holding out until Christmas and I can't tell you how many things I've had to go print at the copy place while waiting. You don't realize how much you need the stupid thing until it's broken.

Yankee Candles. Silly, but I love them.

Some fabulous book and an enthralling computer game. I want to spend at least a full day off alternating between the two, eating junk food in my pyjamas and neglecting my children.

New pyjamas. The perfect uniform for being a sloth and telling your kids to eat their Christmas candy instead of making them breakfast.

I didn't realize that was a pun until I googled Whirled Peas. Then I actually laughed for a good minute. Awesomesauce.

I want:

1- A really good vacuum. Boring I know, but while I hate vacuuming, I hate having shit stay on the floor even though I've passed the damn vacuum. I want a vacuum that actually does the work it's supposed to do.

2- A winning lottery ticket. Just enough to buy a few things (like said vacuum).

3- A KA mixer too. I don't know what it is about those things... They just look so pretty I guess. I hope that if I ever do get one, that I don't waste it by never using it.

4- An electric hammer-action piano. I haven't had a piano since moving out when I was in my 20s. I miss playing!

5- A pink Pook onesie. Seriously. Look it up (www.pook.ca) I have the red one, and it's soooo warm and comfy. I'm not sure if my mom bought it as a joke or not, but I wear it ALL THE TIME, since my room is in the freezing cold basement. I may actually get this because I told my mom that *this* is what I want.

6- I also want a slim tv that I can bolt high up on the wall so that my youngest doesn't turn it off when my oldest/myself are watching something.

I've been thinking about this a lot.
I got my one big wish and X is going away for a month in Dec. yet again this year.

My list:
1. some movies that I had in VHS but don't have DVD yet.
2. The Kitchen Aid mixer would be great but I don't have any room for it in my kitchen.
3. A new bathrobe.
4. Something hand made from my twins. I told them I don't want them spending their allowance money on me. (It would be like I bought myself something since I give them the allowance.)

LMAO at the Whirrled Peas.

A new mid weight coat. Mine finally officallly wore out last year.

A new pair of Clark Media Art boots (I didn't buy them when I had the chance, and now I can't find them anywhere).

To be able to afford to have my thermostat on a setting higher than "I can see my breath" all winter.

The kids to make good grades.

And of course whirled peas.

Oh and BTW- "- A KA mixer too. I don't know what it is about those things... They just look so pretty I guess. I hope that if I ever do get one, that I don't waste it by never using it. "

I got one for a wedding gift, and I honestly only use it about 2-3 times a year. It's so honking big, it stays in the cabinet.

tushnurse: you could maybe send it to me? Perhaps I would use it more than that? Lol.

In all honesty, my friend has one. She says if it stays out, she uses it. If it is put away, she doesn't.

Crescita I saw that in the skymall magazine back in July and I want one too! My kitty's litterbox will probably end up in my office in our new house and I'd like it to not look gross.

What I'd like:

Our house finished (that will probably be late January, though)

A positive pregnancy test!!!!

I'd really like an origami owl necklace. Am considering just gifting myself with one, but I don't need to be spending money right now.

I'd like all my winter clothes out of storage, that would be GREAT.

We're both in our 30s. One awesome 4-year-old daughter.

Close, ga. It's a tub to shower conversion kit. Very useful in old homes where the only current shower is in the dark, unfinished, scary basement.

Guys!

I just ordered my KitchenAid Stand mixer as an early Christmas present to myself!!!!

A little birdy told me that there is a black friday deal thing at an online retailer (I don't want to get pinged for posting the actual site, but if you're interested, PM me). I got the Artisan in Cranberry color:

Here's the math:

Regular Price $449.99
Sale Price $349.99
Cart Price $319.99
Coupon Code (15%) $271.99
Rebate ($50) $221.99
Store cash earned ($75) $147.99

I'll turn around and use the store cash I earned to buy Christmas presents for other people. So it's like I only spent around $147.99 +tax & a shipping surcharge of $7.50.
