In a couple of hours we will be going to my BH aunts and uncles for Thanksgiving....his mother and father will also be there. I am still in shock that I am even invited...I don't know if his aunt and uncle know the details but am assuming they do.

My SIL is also going (without her husband and DD) mainly to support me....needless to say she is a fantastic person and I am so undeserving of her support and kindness.

I am just hoping someone has some words of wisdom or advice for me before I go. I am wicked nervous and scared but also extremely grateful that they are even letting me come...

Just enjoy the day and enjoy the people. Try to make this a feast day and let go of any expectations. (((hugs)))

Imagine a ship trying to set sail while towing an anchor. Cutting free is not a gift to the anchor. You must release that burden, not because the anchor is worthy, but because the ship is.

I didn't see this post until now, but I hope you had a good holiday. I'm sure it was tough, and I hope you felt supported by your H and SIL.

Thank you to all who responded.

Overall the day went pretty well. Other than my MIL undermining me at dinner in regards to my DD. I also realized that when ever I wasn't in the same room as her my MIL took those opportunities to take family pictures....but it is what it is.

I am very grateful that I was able to spend the holiday with my BH and DD as a family....That's what matters most
