I am still hoping to R, but it isn't looking good at the moment, and I'm finding myself reading through sample separation agreements online and feeling overwhelmed, wondering -- what do I need to have in mine? Shortly after D-Day, we discussed that if worst came to worst, that we would keep lawyers out of it and do it ourselves. So what do I need to make sure is in there to protect myself and DD?

For example -- I know DD wants it added that WH can't bring OW (the one from affair or others) around her. How do I word that?

What are you so thankful you have in your S/D agreement? What do you wish you had?

Me, BS 41
Him WH 42 - LTA, EA/PA
Together 24 years
DD13 - the love of my life
DDay#1 11/10/2012
DDay#4 4/5/2013 (NC broken AGAIN)
A supposedly over 6/14/2013

All my posts are edited - I hate typos. :)

Spell out any temporary support issues. Make sure neither of you can create more marital debt. Draw out some custody/visitation senarios too. Most importantly, make sure you have a provision for making mutually agreed changes to the agreement. That way you don't have to run back to the lawyer everytime you need to work something out. Good luck.

Edited to correct stupid typos.

Two steps forward and one step backwards, is still progress.
