Just wondered if any one here has been apart of this program. I found DivorceCare and am thankful for it. The people I have met have helped me realize that the feelings I have had from the beginning until now are normal. With DC and SI I have went from so low wanting to end everything because I just didn't care anymore to knowing that I have rough days but if I keep pushing forward I will get a little better everyday. Thank you everyone!

DC is a great program. I benefited from the program and ended up with some new friends. I have also led a few groups and each time, I still get something out of it. Yes, there is a Christian component to the program but I would not say that it is overwhelming.

For those not near a DivorceCare group, you can go to their website and sign up for their daily emails. It's a very useful tool to have while you are waiting the recommended 6-12 months before you make a decision.

My exWH did this and I wished I could have found this program...I needed it more than him. But please note that I heard my ex and later a coworker say also that some men use these groups to find women. So be careful because my ex did start dating one of the women in the group while we were in divorce process and he was still frequenting escorts at the same time.
A male coworker of my ex admitted to going to themduring his marriage and starting affairs with these women and he is still married to my knowledge...just be careful because it might happen in your group but I heard the program itself is very good.

I'm pretty sure divorcecare saved my life. I needed it, badly.

I went through the program a few times and am now a leader. It's Christian-based, but we always take an open approach and tell people to take what works for them. And we have a lot of non-Christians who come to our groups and rave about it, for the reasons you mention, just knowing they're normal and hearing from other people who are going through the same thing. It's an invaluable resource at a time when it can be difficult to find support.

Is there a cost involved with this program? Just curious - I could really benefit from a local support group but am not finding anything about how exactly it works. Thanks!

Our group charges $30 to cover the cost of the book, and refreshments we serve. However, we have a subsidy if anyone cannot pay. No one is ever, ever turned away.

I'm so glad to find others that have used this program. It has helped me so much. Our group is a very small group and our program was free. No one is turned away. We are all there for the same goal and that is to heal and share our stories with each other. I opened up so much in this group, I honestly don't know where I would be without it.I just finished the program and in January plan to restart it. It will be interesting to see how much progress I have made.
