Im already having a not so good Monday. Yucky weather. I feel yucky. And its Monday. So, I walk across the street from my work to get some fresh air and walk through the shops. I walk into one and what do I hear?

"Last Christmas, I gave you my heart but the very next day you gave it away..."

Holy crap on a cracker. First of all, what a horrible song. It does not sum up my situation exactly but our last Christmas together was horrible. More evidence found and I later ended up in the hospital. I went all out to make that Christmas extra special and she just flat out ruined it. Since then, I have had much better Christmases but still. Why oh why didnt I take the blue pill. Or was it the red pill. Damn it. Now my memory is fading!

There is no context where this song is okay. None. Ever.

Sorry you triggered. It sucks.

And it sucks that I went for a walk, into the store to help lift my spirits. I took the initiative to help myself, do something positive and bam; right between the eyes.

((gotmylifeback))

I'm so with you. I always loved the holiday season but this year it feels like a maze of land mines. Triggers freaking everywhere, and I just want to get through it in one piece.

I never realized the degree of romance in some of my favorite Christmas songs. Ugh... It's like everyone in the world is chestnut roasting, sleigh riding, fireside snuggling and mistletoe kissing but ME.

But we'll get through it, one day, one song, and one bad memory at a time...

Hang in there.
