Our dogs' two food dishes are on opposite ends of the kitchen. They're pretty good at eating out of their own bowls.

H was eating out of his sister's dish so I said to him, "H, go eat your own food!' He stops, looks up at me, and walks over to his own food and starts eating.

I was pretty impressed!

Oops!

Dog's name starts with "H" and keeping privacy in mind I used his initial.

Sorry for calling you a dog, LD!

They are pretty smart!
Our dogs are not allowed in our kitchen, so usually when I'm in there cooking, I have paws lined up at the very edge of the carpet-meets-kitchen tile area.
Our white german shep likes to sometimes put her front paws a couple of feet into the kitchen in hopes of a treat.

I usually look over, then say, "Are you in my kitchen?"
She'll give a little bark/moan, then back up JUST far enough that her paws are on carpet again.
