User Topic: I can't find a Christmas card, advice?

I've searched for hours. It used to be fun reading the all the loving messages in cards and choosing which one best described my deep love, affection and respect for my husband.
Not this year. I can't bring myself to buy one that says "To my Wonderful Husband" on it. And they all say something about how you have made my life better or you're the best thing that's ever happened to me, blah, blah, blah.
I broke down and cried reading cards yesterday.
I can not give him one of those cards like I used to. They would be a lie. I am not a liar.

Any advice for what kind of card on the first Christmas after Dday?

Look around a bit and you will find cards that are blank inside. Maybe they have a fun picture on the outside with no words. Sort of a any occasion card.

With that. Maybe write Merry Christmas on the inside. and let it go at that.

Hallmark has no cards for our situation.

This is my 2nd Christmas since DDay and I still can't read the cards. Last year I found a pretty card with a winter scene on the front and pretty much just wrote Merry Christmas and signed my name.

I had better luck this year at Hallmark. I purchased a card from their Signature Collection. Has a pic of a bag of coal on the front and inside it says "even the naughty deserve something nice." I plan on writing a brief message and signing my name.

It's the best I can do. Maybe next year will be better. Good Luck ((((((hugs)))))

I went with a card that is geared more toward a coworker, but without "coworker" specifically in the wording.

The boxed cards are also pretty generic in wording and not very lovey dovey.

Or you simply could go without giving a card this year. If the search is too painful to you, just don''t go there. (((hugs)))

Imagine a ship trying to set sail while towing an anchor. Cutting free is not a gift to the anchor. You must release that burden, not because the anchor is worthy, but because the ship is.

I agree with Skan, maybe no card this year would be easier on you. Or if you feel like you must give him one, a blank one would work so can write whatever you do/don't want to say.

Words are my thing. I hate that I can't look at cards, inspirational marriage quotes, listen to love songs, etc, without getting so depressed. We are in R (DDay #1 appx 7 years ago, Dday #2 appx Sept 2013).

I did find one quote I'll save for Valentine's Day: "You broke my heart. But I still love you with all the pieces." About as romantic as I can get right now.
