Oh my God! This could probably be a prevention for infidelity. This statement is 14 pages, and very small type. Just knowing that you have to fill this out for a collaborative process, might make straying spouses think twice before they leap into a relationship. I will regard it as a necessary task, I hope WH regards it as a penance. He's very short-tempered and is going to go ballistic when he sees it. He's really lazy, too.

I can tell you from my experience that you should fill it out with as much detail as you can provide. My WW only provided the bare minimum of information (i.e. income and monthly expenses) and my lawyer said that it was the weakest one she had ever seen. The fact that I made mine so detailed though now puts the ownership on her to verify and confirm prior to our pretrial. If she doesn't it is a black mark on her.

BTDT. I was so SHOCKED You didn't ask for any advice but I just wanted to encourage you to be as thorough as possible. In my situation, I spent 10 days making copies of statements, etc. I used over 1,500 pieces of paper. Stbx turned it about 20 pieces of paper. It pissed me off but there is nothing I can do about it. They lied during the marriage, of course they are going to lie during the divorce. Good luck!

OMG...I am really dreading this kind of thing..The thought of being so thorough as to turn in a 50 page statement on my behalf and still be at the mercy of WH and his lawyer just makes me sick

I'm going through the same thing only I'm using a lawyer. Getting all the pension plan statements has been a nightmare since they are being mailed to him. He's a big procrastinator so I know filling out his forms won't be done until it's ordered by the court. That means my attorney needs to file those orders and more money has to be paid. We've already paid 10k retainer and I want that to last as long as possible. So I'm filling out his paperwork for him. He's a whiney, big ass baby who has complained for the last 25 years about how hard he works. Acts like he's the only man on the planet who works hard. The facts are he's disorganized, a poor communicator, a procrastinator and doesn't know how to delegate or mentor his staff. Honestly...I don't know how he's done as well in his profession as he has.

Actually, I do know....because he's had me to take care of every other aspect of his personal life. All the man has had to do for himself in the past 25 years is go to work. I did everything else, except wipe his butt, for him.

Looking back, I now see the guy was looking for a mama (me) to take care of him and skanks (the OWs) to play with.

Me: BW 59
Him: STBXWH 61
Married: 25 years
DDay1: 2/2002; DDay2: 6/2012
Gave him his second chance and he blew it.

Love the bolded comment. This describes my experience exactly, except that my D has been going on for 2.5 years so far, so I've had to do it several times. And I'll have to do it again I assume in six months.

You can't control someone else, so I guess you can just do the best job as possible on your own statement.

The financial part of divorce is hell when it comes to paperwork.

I think...therefore, I'm single.

It is what it is.
