Sure!

Reserving this spot for photos of my trip to see the boy next week.

As promised...pix from my trip to see the boy this past weekend.

We toured the San Diego Zoo on Saturday and I bribed AJ to replicate this photo taken when he was two, which I will embarrass him on Facebook tomorrow for Throwback Thursday.

Here's AJ with his GF, myself and some Broncos fans during the game. LOVE how my hair decided to part down the middle.

Last but not least...me enjoying a Broncos win celebratory Mile High Margarita.

Okay, here's from today, but I can not figure out why this is so grainy! I just got a new iPhone 3 days ago, and I don't understand the picture settings. What is this HDR shit?

Okay, this one is a little more clear:

She gone.

Great pics, ladies!

ppga - this may sound like a silly question, but did you take the protective film off the iPhone's lens? I've heard sometimes people forget to do that. Not that I ever would.

A little freaked out about privacy but this is my first and only selfie, as crude as it is, inspired by the many selfies shared between the lovers, liars and life stealers, and I'm throwing caution to the wind.

okay I'm removing pic in edit. I feel a *little * exposed and that pic was absurdly large.

((Is this pic trackable back to my phone or other ? I mean by general public. Heck I don't even do FB ((except to out OW in entirely stupid ways. ))

Submitting, trepidatiously!

Jpapa, love the pic at the Carolina game.

Jpapa, that is one beautiful football stadium in your picture.

Y'all are falling for my oldest trick- Jrazz' pic of me from the first NorCal G2G with the firemen and the pic at the Carolina game all have purty surroundings so I look better through a perceived osmotic reaction.

@simplydevastated,
I spent three days in Sydney, Australia in December 2012. I had to take a train and bus to get to this little zoo but it was worth it. I got to pet the koala (their fur is like brillo pads) and feed a kangaroo.

Really? All they do is eat eucalyptus leaves and sleep. I saw a bunch of them up close. They move pretty slow too. Now the wombats...they bite. They had warning signs outside of their pens and they kind of look like similar to koalas.

Guys - just a heads up here. You really should make sure that however you are hosting your photos, the site or service does NOT contain identifying information about YOU.

Right click on the photo and look at properties to make sure there is nothing there like your name, social security number, etc.

Just keeping it 'safe.'

Don't know if it matters, but for the few that know me, I just wanted to share my accomplishment - I've lost 117 pounds in the last 2 years, and I just did a "before and after" shot. The "before" is me 6 months ago, the "after" is 2 weeks ago. I was shocked at the difference (40 pound loss)!!!

I also went blonde. :)

From a recent trip to Montana - that's the Yellowstone River behind me. You can see the motorcycle trails on the hills across the river. There were some CRAZY people over there riding up and down them.

Walking the dogs in the snow a couple of hours ago. I look kind of peeved, but I was actually happy to get some fresh air even though it was 20 degrees and snowing sideways.

Is it spring yet?

I figure this pic is a good substitute:

Thanks, Moo! I think she got the best of both of us! I know I've told you this a few times, but she's "Moo", too! Her sig line on outgoing email is, "You've got Moo!".

ETA: She's always been like a walking cartoon sunshine.

I've been extremely busy dealing with more DS issues 😢 and traveling non-stop for several months, and been away from SI for a while, but glad to see the pic thread is still alive with so many new faces! Yay! So many beautiful faces!

I've done quite a bit of mushroom hunting in the last month, so I thought I would post a pic of some delicacies for y'all to drool over, lol.

Anyone else hunt morels?

Some of my morels, the darlings of the mushroom world:

PPGA, we just started hunting morels! We've yet to find any, but we just went this last weekend!

We get LOTS of chanterelles in the fall!

Those are beauts! I'm drooling and envious!

Tired Girl, you guys look great! Glad to finally put a face to the name!

TG and HL, you both look really happy in that picture

PPGA, we get morels at our place up north, but some years are better than others. We often miss the best hunting because we're not up there during the week. Last year we found one. I was mowing the lawn, and just happened to notice it in the yard. I showed it to my brother, and the next morning he left and took it with him. Needless to say I won't be showing him if I find any this year

Wow want2help, you hunt morels, chanterelles , and raise your own chickens...you are a girl after my own heart! We had some chickens when the kiddos were little. I remember a Japanese Silky my kiddos just loved. Unfortunately, some predator got it, and the kids were devastated. 😢. If you find any morels, you must post pics!

Wifehad5, your brother stole your only morel? how dare he, lol! it just cracked me up when you wrote, "he left, and took it with him". Hope you find some more this year. Our season is over now. I must wait another 360 days, grrrrr.

PPGA, we raise chickens (my H wants to add ducks), grow our own food, and hope to add beekeeping to that very soon. All on a regular sized suburban plot of land, outside a major metropolitan area.

We also teach our DD wilderness camping, fishing, mushrooming, etc.

I will definitely post any morel pictures, feel free to message me tips on finding them anytime.

The only morels I've ever found had a similar fate as WH5... my DAD claimed them as his own (I found them growing by my grandmother's old burn pile).

Wow want2, very cool. (Tip: avoid ducks they are very nasty and messy).

Morel tips, well I'm in the South, so it may be quite different in the PNW. We start looking late march early April, when the ground temp (use a cooking thermometer) reaches 53* in the shade at 8am. Once the ground temp reaches 59* you are wasting your time - move to higher elevations.

We look in river/creek bottoms around poplars, elms, and ash trees. Or, anywhere where the ground has been disturbed in the previous year by burns, logging operations, or digging. I understand burnsites are HUGE morel sites in your area.

We also grow shiitake, Lionsmane, and chicken of the woods on logs. We have about 700 logs now!

Breathe again, morels are a highly sought after, very expensive mushroom that only grows in the Spring of the year, and usually only for about 2 weeks in any one location. They taste unlike anything you have ever tasted before, and to me, taste nothing like a mushroom. I can't even describe the taste, but it is AWESOME!

Want2help, make sure you are positive on your morel ID. There are 'false morels' and there are reports of some people dying from eating them.

I've enjoyed scrolling thru this thread at different times and seeing all the nice pics...some which magically disappear!

t/j I'll admit as I was scrolling thru and saw the pic of the morels, and without reading the words, the first thing that popped into my head was "wow, are those shriveled up peanuts?" it wasn't until I read the comments that I realized they were in fact mushrooms

BA10, you might be able to find them fresh at Whole Foods, if not, you may have to settle for the dried.

Here is a soil temperature map. Those of you living In the areas in light green and dark green need to be searching for morels right now:

Yep, TRD, they do sort of look like shriveled up peanuts! I'd never thought of that.

@wanttohelp, I don't know about that, but I can say that we had a similar scenario here, and we still got some morels. I think they will still come up, but once they are up, that hot weather would dry them out super fast. So better get them quickly.

(Jjct, well played sir.)

It was truly an honor and a pleasure to meet and be able to hang out with the Knights. They agreed to take this picture with me even after meeting me in the dead of night for beignets and running into me while I was on my third or fourth trip to the buffet at Dooky Chase's. (Just don't ask about the random "interesting dude" who took the pic, bless his heart...)

The Knights are shining examples of why you should always jump at the chance to meet fellow SI'ers, we have some pretty good folks around here. Btw, thanks to the Knights, I was about 100ft. away from Clapton rather than in a different Zip code- I owe them more than a few rounds of beignets for their kindness.

The thing is, the "They" in your question is really anyone who wants to throw one. I hosted my first G2G about 1.5 years into SI. One of the best things I ever did. Made friends/family for life that day. You just gotta throw it out there.

but I want to know how your dancing went

It went OK! We are a little rusty because I hurt my back in April so we hadn't been practicing like we should. Here's a link to our DD's first dance. Her H looks a little stiff, but they still put their lessons to good use

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQWSyC_dUUg&feature=share

Haven't found anyone who might have taped her dance with Mr L2HM yet.

Harriet, if you have a service like photobucket you can link it from there. Just download the pic to photobucket then copy the img link on the right side of the photobucket screen and then paste in your SI message using the image button on the left of the SI screen under the quote button.

Does this help or did my rambling confuse you. I have a tendency to do that.

Harriet, your photos have to be on the web, and then you copy the URL into the Image button.

If you have the pictures posted somewhere like Facebook, you can right click and then click "view image" or similar that will open just the image in a window, so that the URL ends with .jpeg. That's the URL you need.

She wants to be Link for Halloween. So awesome I don't even know where to start.

So we're going to Disneyland for the H-Ween party, and Crazz says to her, "People might think you're Peter Pan* " and she looks him dead in the eye and says, "No. I will have a Hylian shield and sword" and goes back about her dinner.

Soooo proud. Little scared.

Mostly proud.

*The designers of the Link character actually modeled him after Peter Pan. Awesome!

Jrazz, once your kid reaches that level of cool you have officially won at parenting. Congrats! She's all kinds of awesome.

A love for Zelda and Mario Bros is definitely a win!

My eldest keeps asking if he can have Yoshi for Christmas. An actual Yoshi, on which he can ride around.

I would never hear the end of it if Vrazz thought that was remotely an option.

Thank you GA. I have been told that is my best side for pictures.

What you can't see in the picture is most of the Tahoe Basin opening up in front of me. Those who know the area can point to the exact spot at which I am standing- on the side of Hwy. 50 just below the summit. Saturday was a perfect day for a Tahoe ride.

You also can't see the smile in that picture, but I'm fairly confident it's there.

Hahaha. I had black dress shoes on but decided to go to sneakers so I could actually work out. So I did work out in that outfit, which was not super comfortable.

It was an artsy outdoor event. Those are just decorations that aren''t meant to signify anything, I don''t think!

Since LSU lost that one in OT, I'm pretty sure - that's NOT jpapa's happy face.

Jjct, it was the 'Bama game.(To protect my buddy's identity, the blackout box accidentally covered up the scoreboard behind us.) I was there with 102,000 of my closest friends.

Jrazz is correct, I don't have a happy face nor a murderous face- I only have the one expression.

My family's (non-SI) Christmas Card photo this year.

Just on GP, my son doesn't believe in smiling for photos. You get mean-muggin' or nothing at all.
