I had a trigger today. I ran into the bathroom away from the kids. I shook like a leaf. I silently sobbed. After a while I took an anxiety pill and then a 2 hour nap. It felt horrible. When I got up, I took my kids for a walk by the river. I cooked a great dinner of spinach crust pizza. We don't eat gluten bc both kids have celiac. Everyone loved it.

But I feel drained. Emptied out. I feel like the trigger just enveloped the whole day.

I am tired of being this way. I want to feel better than this.

((dyinghere))triggers are so awful. I am glad you were able to recover from it and have a good evening with your children. Tomorrow will be another day. Go to bed...force it out of your mind. Get some sleep tonight.

Hi, Dyinghere, triggers can suck the life right out of you. Your D-Day is very recent, it is very normal, but you did a great job of recovering.

Many of us sobbed in the bathroom, when taking a shower, anything to keep our emotions in check in front of the children. It stinks, but it is good to release those emotions. Naps also help to relieve our minds from the stress.

Just take it one day at a time, I remember when the weekends seemed to be so much worse than weekdays due to a lack of a routine.

You will have better days, that old word, time.
