Two new experiences for me - posting in this area & joining a book group.
I've always wanted to join a book group but never found one. There is a new one starting up just down the road from me. I'll be going there on Thursday. I'm really excited & hope to meet some new people as well.
Wish me luck

That sounds like fun! Let us know how it goes.

Welcome to the NB forum, hangingonin!

Joining a book group sounds like a great way to have a new beginning too.

Welcome to NB. I've got a nice comfy seat open next to me on the bus.

Let us know if you read any great books. I am always on the look out for different authors.

UPDATE - I went to the book club. Met some really nice people. We choose a book that I would never normally read- the Pact by Jodi Picoult. I've started reading it & I'm enjoying it.
I feel at least I've made a start on looking to my new future rather than missing my ex.
I've also started to catch up with old friends & am making sure that I am doing something most weekends.
At the moment I'm feeling pretty good. Hope it lasts

I just read The Tenth Circle by her. It was the first book that I read by her and I have to say it was an uncomfortable read. Really made me question a lot of things which I suppose it the point of some books.

Welcome to NB! I look forward to watching your transformation over the upcoming years (that's why I stick around SI -- it's so heart-warming to see the progress in this forum!)

Congrats on the book club -- sounds like a great way to meet new people and gain new experiences.

Yay!
