(BS & WS replies are welcome)

So my WH and I were discussing what (if anything) we would be doing for Valentine's Day - yes we still celebrate, usually something small like lunch and a movie for instance.

He suggested seeing the new Colin Farrell romance movie that came out recently - when he suggested it I rolled my eyes and made a gagging motion like I was throwing up over the ridiculousness of romance movies...

And he says, "You used to love romantic movies, what happened to you? When did you get so cynical?"

I nearly lost my mind! Is he serious??? My kids were in the room so I didn't say anything - I just gave him "the look" - you know the one that says "YOU DID THIS DIP-SHIT! YOU MADE ME THIS WAY WHEN YOU DECIDED TO BANG YOUR EX-GIRLFRIEND - ARE YOU F**KING KIDDING ME???"

They just really don't get it sometimes do they?

My H occasionally looks at me after I make a comment and says, "A little jaded are we?"
Yeah... jaded is the way a lot of us are now.

Its the "bitter woman" syndrome that a lot of people refer to it as. Of course things like that make us want to vomit now, but I feel eventually that bitterness wears off and we start to gain our faith back...... Although I've always had a barf reflex for movies, books, etc like that even before DDay...... I hate the psychological aspect of it all, it makes people think that there is the possibility of all rainbows and fireworks all the time... and thats simply not real life even without infidelity.

Yep, my H also says things and when I roll my eyes or say thanks but no thanks, he seems to forget why I'd feel that way. Dummies

Seriously???

I used to be able to take all my WH's "jokes" like a champ. Now I find myself bristling a lot more often and he says I need to get my sense of humor back. Guess I just can't take a joke anymore because the joke was on me for way too long.

Sorry, feeling pissy tonight :(
