In the year 2000, I left my city and moved to CA to be with the wonderful xwife that landed me here on SI. Coming to Silicon valley with no working skill sets or degree, I managed to land a technical gig after some sheer luck and lots of prayers. They(co.) just wanted someone to answer the phone as it was technical support.

My parents gave me 5k and said good luck as I was a walking talking fuck up to that point in my life, prolly still am now :} . It was/is a lot of $ for them. Now that I have a nephew that is going thru the same scenario (gf and without a job), I just wrote him a letter telling him how I am passing this same 5k to him the history behind it and hope that he can fwd this $ to the next family member when he see that they are in need.

I am so bless/grateful for all the things in my life

That's so awesome, WWIE.

I'm glad that things are looking up for you and that you are in a position to help others in need.

Wonderful! Not just that you are in a position to do this, but also that you WANT to do this.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words.

I didn't get this far in my life without people carrying, nursing my hurts, and tolerating me.
Albeit this is one hard road to hoe(infidelity), it changed me to be a better person then prior and more reflective of how and who got me here today and I am forever grateful.

Thanks Again SI

Wow. I'm sure your nephew will appreciate it. That's a very cool gesture to help get him on his way. It shows him that someone still believes in him.
