Since I moved to Mom's over Thanksgiving weekend, I've pretty much gone to work and come home, with the exception of spending part of one evening with my friend Jay (the poofer).

So I decided being a hermit's not good, so my baby sister and I went last night to a place a few miles away that has karaoke. I've not performed anywhere at all since about 2007-08, and I've never been to this place so was a little worried...

I had SO MUCH FUN!!!!

Everyone there was really nice! I was worried about it being 'meat-markety' but it so wasn't. We played pool and I sang three times and generally had a blast! It was nice to get out of the routine and enjoy myself and NOT be in an environment to have to deal with the whole 'hey baby' crap. I don't mind meeting new people, mind you, I'm just not ready to deal with the whole dating scene mindset and the BS that comes with it yet.

Sooo...Baby sis and I have a plan to go once or twice a month now! I am so excited and happy that (1) I got out of my shell and (2) found a really cool and safe-feeling place where I can relax and just turn my mind off from the divorce and work and school and have fun!!

Yippee! Glad you have found a place to go, and glad you and your little sister are going to keep going there together. Singing Karaoke was on my bucket list since I am shy in public...crossed it off the list last year...
