hey, stretch13 here, just checking in after many moons and months to say, "hi" and "yay, life is good!" it's hard to believe that things could be so twisted-norman-rockwell-perfect in this here fBS's world. but it is.

DD turns 5 in a week. holy bigger shoe size, batman! she was just 10 months old when i lost my soul and found SI. i'd never be where i am without this site. peterpan and i are swimming in love, respect and happiness. one little couples retreat this last summer melted away the last of our defensive habits, both of us, and our relationship is easier than i knew was possible. i love having my life and his and then ours to share. we have the happiest little family.

anyway, i can't spend too much time catching up, at least not today...but i've been meaning to drop in for a while and clap for everyone a little, motivational and congratulatory claps both, for anyone here who needs them.

next? the day after tomorrow, i'm going to learn how to snow ski. no doubt littlebean will be better than me by noon on thursday. wish me luck and soft landings for these ever-more-crackly bones.

i think of you guys all the time. i'm still trying to remember who recommended Bon Iver to me so long ago. i was skeptical but have fallen in love with that voice. soon my archives will be open to me and i'll hunt that down. i feel scared to go back and read my archives. not sure i'm ready for that, but i surprise myself lately with how things don't trigger me when i expect them too.

happy feb 24th everyone. i love you all!

turns out my archives made me feel proud and forgiving of that devastated girl more than four years ago. no triggering at all (not at what i picked through so far).

and by the way, thank God my saints won the superbowl in the months after dday. i think back to those first weeks of hell and sorrow and laugh at what kept me in touch with any kind of life (besides DD). then i almost cry with thanks for those moments. they are some of the only ones i remember where i felt anything like whole, even if only for a couple of hours. that was truly a personal gift to me from the Universe.
