The cast has been revealed and there are lots of great choices. We've got Winnie from the Wonder Years, DJ Tanner from Full House, Sean Avery, Drew Carey, Lando Calrissian and many more.

I haven't seen her dance but I am anxious to watch Amy Purdy dance. I don't think there is anything that can hold her back and we will be surprised at what she can do on the dance floor.

The Stars (from the Good Morning American page)

Candace Cameron Bure

The actress, who broke out as a child star as D.J. Tanner on the hit '90s series "Full House," is also a New York Times best-selling author and mom of three.

Danica McKellar

Best known as Winnie Cooper on "The Wonder Years," the actress turned-mathematician and best-selling author for her line of "Math Doesn't Suck" books, brings her brains and acting chops to the ballroom.

Diana Nyad

The swimming legend, who became the first person to complete a historic 110-mile swim from Cuba to Key West in September 2013 on her fifth attempt, brings her determination and fearlessness to the competition.

NeNe Leakes

The breakout "Real Housewives of Atlanta" reality queen-turned sitcom actress brings her bold personality to the ballroom.

Cody Simpson

The 17-year-old Australian pop singer, who has amassed more than 12 million combined Twitter and Facebook followers and nearly 200 million YouTube views while on tour, and will now take to the "Dancing" stage.

Drew Carey

The stand-up comedian and actor, known for long-running shows, "The Drew Carey Show" and "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" went on to host "The Price Is Right," and brings his humor to the ballroom this season.

Meryl Davis

Olympic ice dancer Meryl Davis brings her gold-medal winning skating skills to the dance floor. Davis, 27, has been skating with partner Charlie White, 26, since 1997. While they won't be paired together on the show, the breakout Sochi stars will be fierce competition.

Charlie White

The Sochi star and second-half of the American ice dancing duo will trade skates his skates for dancing shoes this season.

Amy Purdy

Double-amputee snowboarding champ Amy Purdy lost both of her legs at 19 to meningitis, and went on to become a world champion in adaptive snowboarding and a motivational speaker. She is the first Paralympian to compete in the show's history.

Sean Avery

Former NHL star Sean Avery is the first hockey player in "DWTS" history. Avery played left wing for the Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, Dallas Stars, and the New York Rangers, and was known as his team's "enforcer" and for his unpredictable on-ice antics.

Billy Dee Williams

Dubbed the "black Clark Gable" for roles in "Lady Sings the Blues," opposite Diana Ross, and 1975's "Mahogany," the iconic actor has played numerous characters during his storied career, including scoundrel Lando Calrissian in the "Star Wars" trilogy.

James Maslow

The Nickelodeon star and "Big Time Rush" singer has headlined sold-out tours across the globe and may be a triple threat.

AWESOME!!!

I have a whole different level of respect for the dancers now that MH and I are in dance class. Its' not nearly as easy to coordinate your steps and move with each other.

I'm still trying to get my polka turn down without throwing in an extra step

Love this cast!! And Drew Carey...yay!! Candace Cameron doesn't look anything like she used to...I didn't even recognize her.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the cast!

Bring it on, Amy!!!

Two things, however:

A. We need MH to attach the Mirror Ball avatar to this thread.

B. Let's just hand over the trophy now to one of the OLYMPIC CHAMPION ICE DANCERS!

ETA: I think Drew is going to surprise a lot of people.

Lucky...we are LOVING our dance classes and apparently we're pretty good too. Our instructor is very impressed with how quickly we caught on...minus that polka turn thing I'm having an issue with

AJ...

I think you're right. I bet Drew is going to be pretty light on his feet

I'll ask MH to do his fancy mirror ball on this thread when he has a moment

Okay, an Olympic speed skater or singles ladies skater is one thing but ICE DANCERS!!!

It's called Ice DANCING for a reason. They already have the hold and the footwork plus lifts!!!

Don't like that at all.
How much of an advantage do they have over a double amputee?

Amy is with Derek - he is an amazing tutor. As you may know, he helped Meryl and Charlie win the Gold Medal.

I'm not going to count Amy out just yet!

I agree with Lola - ice dancers should not be allowed to compete. It isn't fair to the others. Ah well, they probably all get a nice paycheck.

Brooke was not asked back to co-host. Lots of speculation, but I'm buying into the one with the show wanting younger co-host to appeal to a younger demographic.

Amy killed it. WOW - if you ever are feeling down and need some inspiration, spend some time watching her dance.

DJ Tanner did a great job too, as did Winnie, but I think Winnie needs to chill a bit. She's so freaking star struck!

Looks like it's between Billie Dee and Diana for first off the island, though Diana at least brought a little game. Billie looked like he was walking (stumbling?), though in his defense, with a little strut to his step.

I do not know who the two "hot" young dudes are (hmmm...not hot to me, but then again I'm ancient), but there is obviously some chemistry with their partners. Nothing like sexing up an otherwise boring Monday evening!

Drew is definitely last year's Bill and I'll be secretly rooting for him. I'm normally a bit of a NeNe fan, but she's got to bring it down 12 notches in the rehearsals. It'd be different if that attitude showed up on the floor …"Know what I'm sayin?"

Charlie did fine but the big question I have is WILL HE EVER STOP SMILING??? I thought Sean was the Jacoby Jones of a few seasons back – kind of a smartass. I’m still trying to get his humor.

Seriously though, just hand the damn thing to Meryl – did you catch when Maks asked her if she could spin in his hand? Really? You’re asking someone who’s had Olympic level figure skating training and experience if they can spin? That’s the thing with the athletes that jump into this. They’re not only athletes, but a bigger part of what makes them good is they possess a training mindset. I competitively figure skated in my youth. The money it takes to coach someone is insane – ain’t no one got time for lack of focus! It’s a world of “I’ll show you it, you do it, and then you do it again and again and again.” Huge difference from other folk.

Oh, and Erin sucks. Sorry, but I'z callz 'em like I'z seez em.

I liked Erin's humour.
To me Brooke was a little to serious and very wooden.
Hate Erin's "girl sportscaster voice".
Low and kind of sing song.
There is another female sportscaster here in Canada that has that ultra girly look like Erin but sounds like my uncle Bob.

I don't really think they need an eye candy co-host for the show anyway. Tom can handle it all on his own.

ETA: Loved the dancing. Amy made me cry. She was sooooo good. Meryl is very bony. Of course she can spin Maks, duh!!
I thought Candace was a surprise stand out.
Billy Dee...buh bye.

DS - She irks me, too. The little girl voice and giggle? I wonder if he is just flirting to help the score/votes. I can't see them together.

I didn't realize that years ago, Mak had dated Peta and had been engaged to Karina. I feel bad for Peta with the whole James surprise.

Not thrilled with Witney.

I think Cody Simpson is going to win just by virtue of his twitter and FB followers. I think he can dance and he will improve. He seems like a nice kid. But, I have got to say I hate the pants he wears. The sagging. UUugggghhh! Even his costume for his dance was sagging. C'mon does he really need all that room? Is that the whole package Erin is talking about? His package is so big he needs his crotch with lots. of. room.

It should be Billy Dee Williams. I think he must have a big Star Wars fan club, though, and those geeks (that's a term of respect, btw ) know how to work a vote.

If not him, maybe the super young blonde guy who keeps poofing up his hair after he dances? Coby? Coady? Brody? Something like that. Whatever.

nik, Cody has 12 million combined FB and twitter followers. I think he will get many, many votes and not be voted off anytime soon.

I hope Billy Dee gets voted off. I like him, but it is uncomfortable to watch him try to dance.

I finally watched last week's episode so I won't bore any of you with my critiques - but seriously, what's up with that dude's pants?

Nik, please take comfort in the fact that this was how Cody spent last Saturday night at the Kids Choice Awards.

Right? I was so distracted by his pants I barely watched his dancing. I don't even understand how that can be comfortable. *sigh* Another fad/trend of the younger generation I don't "get". Excuse me while I go grab my cane and yell at the kids from my front door to get off my lawn!!!!

Erin: You are interviewing dancers, not Richard Sherman.

Chill.

I think NeNe's going. Or Candace. But hoping it's Cody.

Grrrrr...I sure wish Bucky was playing.

I cried at a couple of dances last week, too. Who would've thought dancing can be so moving?

jo2love, I was so glad to hear Sharna tell Cody to pull up his pants and that she didn't want to see those for the rest of the week.

I'm so annoyed that an ice dancer is killing it. Shocker . She's a dancer, how is that even fair to have either of them on this show?

Erin is annoying me too. I wanted to yell at the tv everytime she said, 'get out there and vote'. We're not 'getting out' anywhere, we're staying right here on our couches and firing up the laptop or dialing the phone. (did I just say dialing? ...feeling old now )

I can't turn the station fast enough when I hear that Lady Gaga song "paparazzi" because all I can see is stupid Kate Gossling trying to dance to it

I think Maks was really pissed that Jullianne told him he was "phoning it in" with his choreography.

I thought Val and Meryl were great together but, yeah, she's pretty much a professional dancer in my eyes and should not win on principle.

I am shocked Cody is gone. With his huge fan base I thought he would be there until the bitter end. Plus, he wasn't bad as a dancer. There are worse.

It seems to me that Derek manages to make the dance highlight his partners and cater to what they can and can't do. He manages to do some really beautiful things. I am a fan.

And the word inspiration is not getting old at all. Amy is amazing.

'C ya Cody.

And they all said "Amen!"

Next on my list: NeNe

Y'all know that little tantrum was staged, right? There's usually 2-3 per season - it was just her turn.

Amy continues to amaze me. She’s so willing to try things and then worries about it. A true inspiration. I think if Candace would really just let things loose, she'd be amazing just as Danica has become. I think in this type of competition you have to have a lot of “just let ‘er roll” and see what happens.

Anyone else bugged by how Meryl is crushing on Maks? Had to split a gut when they were talking about the characters they were playing when he suggested she take the boy of the jungle role because she looked more like a 13 year old boy.

Oh, snap!

Drew continues to improve, and you know what? He’s enjoying himself! Flying just under the radar, just like Bill from last year. James’s dance surprised me – it didn’t look to me like he did all that much dancing to earn all perfect 10’s. Charlie was adorbs – that song and dance suited him well.

AND, O. M. Gee - has Donny Osmond had some work done or what? He's halfway to the Liberace Zone!

ETA: Hey MH – where’s our spinning mirror ball avatar????

I said that same thing at the beginning of this thread. She makes me sick...I really can't stand her. It's like she's always 'on' with that big fake smile and her horse teeth blinding me

I was really glad Candice was saved...I think she really wants to be there and on a personal note...Mark is my absolute favorite. Cute and bad boy all rolled into one

It's more like Maks is crushing on Meryl. I have never seen him falling all over himself over ANYONE before. He always seems rather.....well, annoyed with his partners. He liked Erin, it seemed. But maybe tolerated is a better word.

I really can't stand her. It's like she's always 'on' with that big fake smile and her horse teeth blinding me.

Idk but Danica rocked it. I like how the judge are actually giving them tips to grow on. And they are small and nitpicking so you know that they're close to being super awesome. When they start with foot work you know they're barely getting it but commenting on shoulders should tell you that they're doing great

ETA Amy is amazing. I hope she goes all the way.

I really enjoyed watching Candace and Charlie dance.
Me too! I think it was the best dance Candace did all season.

I am disappointed that Danica is gone.

Meryl freaks me out. She looks like a caricature of herself. And, Maks and Meryl are romantically involved??!!!???? I want her gone. Wish it had been her instead of Danica.

I didn't like the guest judge, Abbey. Maks showed his disdain for her big time.

I think if all the judges gave a couple praises and a couple critiques then the audience might get a clue that there are elements that compose these dances. But they've had years of Carrie Ann and Bruno fluff.

My predictions FWIW -

Meryl 1, Amy 2, Candace 3

I also think James was better than Candace, but fan popularity plays a huge part of course.

I'm going with 1. Amy, 2. Meryl, 3. Candace. And I agree - James was better than Candace.

I really, really hope the producers don't bring another professional dancer in as an *cough*amateur *cough* for next season...so not fair to all the others that don't have years and years of professional dance instructions and competition under their belt.

Besides I hate her fake smile.

She did seem quite unemotional. At the end when the three finalists were lined up you could tell that Amy and Candice were sad this was to be over. You could see how amazed they both were with their improvement.

Amy is still my favorite and without dance history that Meryl brought and with prosthetic limbs and the back injury, she almost beat Meryl and that says something amazing about her and her partner. In my book that makes her the star not Meryl.
