For my 20 year old companion and was I tell people 'the most successful relationship I've ever had with a male'.

It's breaking my heart. I just lost his sister last week.

I've lost my crazy cat lady status in less than 2 weeks.

I know it's time but it still sucks.

Yes it does.

I'm so sorry for you, but you and your baby know it's time.

Just be there for him/her. Let your face be the last they look at before they cross the Bridge.

I had to do the same thing recently with my 14 year old diabetic kitteh. I'm still thinking about her every single day. It helps knowing she is released from her illness and health concerns. My thoughts are with you.

20 years! That's a long time for a dog.

What kind of dog is it? So sorry.

I lost my cat of 14 years due to cancer last summer. It does hurt, and I'm so sorry.

Spike was a cat.

He went downhill very quickly from this morning. I actually bumped up the appointment time and then just drove over with him even though it was an hour early. I figured a hysterical woman with a dying cat might get me in sooner. It did. He was completely unresponsive and I just didn't want to drag it out.

I'm glad I was with him. I found his sister dead and I felt badly that I had not been with her when she passed.

The only reason I was home to witness his decline is because of transmission troubles. While having your car break down sucks, I feel lucky I was given those extra couple hours with him before he got really sick

They both were ridiculously spoiled and loved, in that aspect I have no regrets.

I'm so sorry about your loss.

I know how you feel!

I still get sad when I think of my pets passing and it's been a few years.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I had my fur baby for 11 years when he passed unexpectedly... I cried like a baby all day.

I still miss him... He was almost like a dog (even tho he was a cat)

As hard as this is, you're giving him the greatest gift of leaving this world with dignity and love. I'm so sorry that you're faced with this difficult decision.

So sorry to hear this. I had two Siamese who lived very long lives and went over the bridge within a few weeks of each other.

We had a lovely lady vet come to the house, we all had a shot of whiskey and let them go.

It was a very special moment. (((NMA)))

That is so painful for you. You know he just couldn't stand to be without his sister.

That is remarkably old for a kitty, you can be proud that you provided a great home for them.

Awwwwwww, I'm so sorry, notme. You will receive a PM.

My daughter has a brother-and-sister pair of Bengal tabbies. I so fear this will happen with them soon as they are getting up there in Bengal age.

Thank you for all the kind words.

I would love to take credit for their longevity but I think I just hit the genetic jackpot on those two.
