What?  Posted: 12:51 PM, March 28th (Friday)

I've been keeping this to myself because I didn't really think it was going to happen, but I have a 2nd interview at a dream job/winery today at 1pm(PST) and could use some mojo for that. I'm still not sure this is even real. Eek!

Thanks everyone! I think it went pretty well.

Picture sitting in a Martha Stewart-esque lounge with leather couches, bookshelves, art, rugs, and a fireplace for the interview room. It was off the hook.

We had a good chat. I sold myself pretty well and did my touch of over-honesty (talked about DD's medical stuff a little... ) Sigh.

They have 4 facilities and an HR team that are like ships passing in the night... so she told me to expect to hear back around Wednesday next week. She also said that if it were up to her she'd hire me on the spot. She seems like a genuine person, but I know that interviewers sometimes get over-nice.

I'll let you all know next week... and I guess I owe Rebreather and Gaby some samples! (We DID end the interview with a tasting - of COURSE! )

Thanks for the mojo, loves. We'll see what happens!

I'm still waiting too!

She said Weds "At the earliest" and explained that their process takes a while. The "good" news is that one of the candidates who I connected with (with whom I connected?) texted me to say she already got a "thanks but no thanks" email, and I haven't seen anything like that yet.

Still only 2:20pm here... anything can happen!

So the one reference that called back was the Director of HR West - overseeing a few thousand employees. You would think THAT would be enough!

I've been pinging the other two this afternoon - one is a recruiter in SoCal who I did remote hiring for. She's very sweet but a little hard to pin down. The other is a pretty high-level manager in another state - she also oversees a few thousand people all told. She let me use her cell phone for the reference so I passed it to the winery. They probably won't touch base until tomorrow.

As someone who was in HR, intellectually I know that reference-contact-timeframes aren't dealbreakers, but right now I'm sweating bullets wondering if this is going to go through. I heard the numbers through the grapevine - hundreds of applicants, tons of people at the group interview, about twelve callbacks (this based on my callback interview where she mentioned that three managers were interviewing about 4 people)

I think there are either 2 or 3 positions.

So.

I'm hopeful, but if someone else comes charging through the gate ahead of me that might be a bummer.

EEEEEeeeeeeeeee!

Thanks everyone! Super stoked. Crazz brought champagne and flowers home and took his girls out to a fancy restaurant last night.

Special thanks to Mr.jpapageorge who is a sassy monkey on the forums but a very supportive friend when nobody else is looking.

Awesome! (But tell Jpapageorge you're mostly coming up for his cooking/barbecue/Cal game/House of Prime Rib or something so he doesn't get all bent)

So basically what you ladies are saying is that the rest of the NorCal folk aren't worth visiting but the whinery is?

ya know, maybe if you had made it to one of the Texas g2gs and brought some of your infamous Cali-Crack, some of us would have found a different reason to save our pennies for a trip to NorCal. just sayin'...

(S)o he doesn't get all bent...

Too late. Btw, as any REAL College Football fan knows, there are no games during the summer. Perhaps we could have a G2G at the whinery in February to celebrate the grape harvest.

infamous Cali-Crack

Infamous? Is that like more than famous? Please note also that they are referred to as CALI-Crack and are available only at Cali G2Gs(excluding those G2Gs that are held only to celebrate Jrazz' new job at the whinery).

Perfect! That will be hot on the heels of Stanford's 2015 Rose Bowl victory. (Note to self - develop hydroponic wine grapes that mature in February)
