Once a peanut butter jar is stored, how long can it be kept in the fridge and be safe to eat?

I had to use 3 teaspoons of peanut butter for a recipe and since I do not eat it much, I was just wondering....

Is it like, expensive all-natural PB? Or just a jar of Jif?

I have never had PB go bad. Especially if it's in the fridge. It might separate some, but if you stir it, it'll mix back up no problem.

Justin's nut butter-it comes in small pouches-in Walmart, it's $0.88 per pack.

You store peanut butter in the fridge?

Actually, yes and no.
If it is storebought, I don't bother. It has enough preservatives (chemicals) that it is safe in the pantry.

I always store the nut butters that I make myself in the fridge though, since I don't add anything to them other than a pinch of salt.

Some Fry's (Kroger?) have fresh ground peanut butter machines. You buy it by weight and it's delicious.
