So another weird guy from the wonderful world of online dating….

He messaged me through the site (Match), he thought I was "absolutely beautiful" (slight red flag, but flattering nonetheless)…so we messaged over a couple of days on the site, then we swapped numbers. Yesterday.
I was at work yesterday, and it's school holidays here, so I'm juggling my kids too….however we exchanged a few pleasant texts throughout the day - no phone call…..then….this morning, less than 24 hours after giving him my number he texts me - "sorry, you are obviously not that excited in pursuing a relationship, so I'm going to move on"……wtf!!! Firstly, to use the term "relationship" when we haven't even met….honestly, I was shocked, but now quite relieved!
My response was, "wow, I was really not expecting this - what were you expecting from me? We only swapped numbers yesterday and I was at work all day. I'm very cautious with online dating." No response….probably just as well….hopefully he'll think twice before acting all bunny boiler on the next "victim"

Anyone got any ideas what I may have done to get this response? I'm truly baffled….yes, at the beginning I am very cautious with online guys - I've met so many odd characters/flakes/players….to me it's never real until you meet anyway, I'm not keen on all the texting and messaging prior to a meet, it just doesn't work for me, I get too attached, and then the meet is a huge let down.

Sadly, it is clarifying the reality that OLD is not the way forward for me, and I am finally embracing being single now…..

This definitely has nothing to do with what you did/didn't text, and all to do with his crazy expectations!

absolutely nothing...
That response was about the giver not the recipient.

He probably doesn't brush his teeth. Be glad you can next him before you smell him in person.

Oh he would have been so clingy. Consider yourself lucky you never met him.

Gotta agree, it wasn't you. Consider yourself lucky to have found out so early in the process. If it happens again, don't bother with such a nice response, it only leaves you open for additional bullying. Next time just say "ok" and leave it at that.
