Okay, so I'm supposed to be taking it easy after a bad spell last week...and of course, I want to tackle a million and one different things. In the interest of occupying myself without overexerting myself, I'm going to make some things for around the house. I want to put some fun, even quirky sayings all around the house. I'm a word nerd, and have tons of wonderful sayings floating through my head at any given time. However, for whatever reason, I'm stuck on the kitchen.

See, I've got a spot in my kitchen where I attempted something with paint and decided I absolutely do not like it. I purposely put it somewhere that I can hang something over it to cover it if I didn't like it. But now...I haven't thought of the right saying. And that spot is really bugging me; it's just begging me to cover it up every time I'm in the kitchen. And I'm in my kitchen A LOT every day.

So, anyone got anything? Right now I'm stuck on "Moral fiber cannot be found in a cereal box." Yeah, not sure that's really what I want hanging there.

Here's a few.

A clean kitchen is the sign of a wasted life.

---

A messy kitchen is a happy kitchen, and this kitchen is delirious!

---

I like hugs and I like kisses, but what I’d love…is help with the dishes!!

If you want breakfast in bed . . . sleep in the kitchen!

Keep this Kitchen clean . . .Eat out!!

---

This is a self-cleaning kitchen . . .clean up after yourself!

---

Thousands of people have eaten in my kitchen and gone on to lead normal lives.

Life is uncertain, eat dessert first.

simplydevastated: Okay, I'm twisted, but since you suggested it, I'm gonna share what you inspired. "Pudding is awesome." does not work for the area I really want to cover; however, it has so totally found a spot in my kitchen. I have a habit of painting coffee cans and using them as storage containers; so I'll paint one like the huge can of pudding, fill with (I'll figure it out) set it on the corner shelves we're building and add a little sign. Viola. I like. I'm probably weird.

authenticnow: I like it. So applicable in our household. Hmmm...maybe...it could work...

lostinthismess: I think I might paint this on an old cookie sheet that I first paint with blackboard paint. (I so dig this stuff.) Then I can have DD write out what we're making each day.

Thanks for the suggestions. And, I'd love to hear more if you've got some.

Mine is painted to look like a chalkboard also. I love the look. Above our Keurig we also have a rustic chalkboard that says
"I Love"
With a blank square underneath to fill it. Sometimes we get silly and sometimes serious, but I dig it 😉

There are tons of Julia Child quotes I love. For example, "if you're afraid of butter, use cream," "life itself is the proper binge," "Everything in moderation...including moderation," and "I think every woman should have a blowtorch."

Whatever you do, don't search "kitchen quote" on Pinterest unless you have hours of time you weren't planning on using.

rachelc - that's perfect! Thank you. The spot I want to cover is over a doorway that leads into my stangely shaped hallway that we have turned into a music room.

And, confession...I've not even checked out pinterest. It scares me. At any given time I have like a million crafty things I'd like to do. I'd get lost if I ever started looking.

And I will so be checking out some Julia Child quotes. I don't know why that didn't occur to me. I use to love watching her.

Repaint it with chalkboard paint. Then you can change the quotes as your mood strikes you.

Peace
