I started a thread like this in NB a month or so ago after reading an article recommending that every day people make a short list of three things that were positive today.
I think it might be even more important to try to think of some good things here in D/S, when we're still mired in the drama and not quite yet able to begin a new life!
I'll start:
1. I have access to unlimited (at least for my needs) clean, cool drinking water.
2. I finally figured out how to talk on my new phone, not on speakerphone. (I should read the manual because I'm sure there are tons of other things I should be able to do!)
3. One of my parrots has really come out of his shell since XWH has gone (the bird always hated him!) Tonight I decided to do some trick training with him, and he picked up so quickly and was so proud of himself. It was great!!! I can't wait until he learns some more complicated stuff!

Love this! I love your parrot trick thing, BTW!
1 - I have access to college, counselors, career training, and other avenues to try and make a better life for myself & my children.
2 - I am alive. I literally thank God every morning when I wake up for another day of life.
3 - Air conditioning.

1. I have three kids who tell me they love me all the time. That helps after they spend the day arguing.
2. The weather has cooled off and is downright lovely here right now.
3. My Divorce Care class has been so uplifting and given me a lot to think about; I think it has played an important role in my healing process.

Love the Happy Thread idea, much needed during hard times!
1. My cozy, warm and sweet home, on a quiet little street with friendly neighborhood and the giggles and squeals of happy kids running around.
2. Bear hugs every night from Thing One and Thing Two (my little boys.)
3. My girlfriends. And my mom. I would be in a ditch somewhere by now if it wasn't for their support and love!
**We only got 3, but it was hard for me not to include my daily ritual of a grande iced doubleshot at Starbucks. Why hide it, I'm hopelessly addicted to these and it's what gets me out of bed in the morning.

You can always do more. When we do this in NB, Capri will often list like 9, and it improves my mood every single time :)
Today's three:
1. My new phone suddenly stopped working today, but I was able to restart it and it seems to be working fine now. In the past, I would have just asked XWH to figure it out.
2. My new coworkers (I've been there 3.5 months) are just amazing and make me feel so welcomed. I had that at my old job, and never thought I'd be so lucky as to find that kind of work environment twice.
3. It's cooled off and I'm just about to go for a run on my course that happens to include the most beautiful scenery in the state. I love my new neighborhood!

1 - My IC.
2 - Pizza
3 - Now that STBX is gone, my kids have been able to make friends in the neighborhood. While yes, today the noise got on my nerves, I lovelovelovelove that my home was filled with the sounds of happy kids screaming & laughing & having fun. No ogre STBX was going to stomp in & tell everyone to be quiet, no one was going to get yelled at, and my kids finally have the reality of neighborhood friends who can come to play! (Now I just need to get more friends!)

1. My son is in a golf tourney Saturday. Was wondering if X and her Dad were going and if he wanted me to go since it would be awkward. Our financial settlement has not Been pleasant. He came over today to say he absolutely wanted me there to watch him and that he told x and her Dad not to come. He thanked me for getting him interested in golf. He was second in the region last year a day after x moved out.
2. DD is fixing salmon for us tonight.

1. Work was just amazing today. I was in the office of one of the major bigwigs, working on a project with him. He stopped in the middle of our discussion to tell me how every single person in the department has been raving about me (I just started less than 4 months ago), how they don't know what they'd do without me, I've helped out beyond their wildest expectations, are my ears ringing, etc. It felt so awesome. If I were still with XWH, I never would have taken this job. He's the coworker I most respect, so to hear him say this to me was unbelievable.
2. Just got back from a great run. The rain stopped for me, and it made the sky above the lake even more beautiful. Prettier than a postcard. Wish I'd had my camera, but I probably would have ruined it with my sweat!
3. The parrot I mentioned in this first post? He is really taken to trick training! We're working on the concept of he gets a treat when he beaks a straw and I make a click sound. That's to reinforce that click = "I like what you're doing so you get a treat." It's the foundation for future trick training. The real test today was if I offer, equidistant, the treat and the straw -- he needs to beak the straw, knowing that if he does so he will get the treat (as opposed to just going for the treat.) And he did it 7 out of 10 times!!!
I am just so proud of him. He was quite neglected/abused in his previous home, so it's great to see him learning and so proud of himself.
4. Can't stop at 3!!! When I was married, I had a less stressful job, so I cooked healthy meals every night. Now, I work longer hours and run at night, so I don't have time. I have discovered that Trader Joe's has amazing, relatively healthy frozen dinners. I know I need to get back to cooking more (maybe on Sunday for the week?) but for right now, this is a welcome stop-gap!!!
5. I am listening to Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D. It is quite possibly the most beautiful music ever composed. Life is good :)
